Hello, I have only just discoverd Twin Peaks, and i can't belive its taken me soo long. Ive finished the last episode and i have just have a few questions that I'm hoping that you guys might be able to help me with...I am certain that theses questions have been answered many times before but im damned if i can find the answers them. (i know that on some other forums people can get a little mean when somebody asks the same questions as someone else... So my apologies if im going over old ground)

Q.1 Ok first off towards the end of second series it shows 3 people having hand convelsions including Agent Cooper and Pete, and it dosen't ever touch on this again. Any ides/theories on this?

Q.2 Is Ben Horne Donnas real farther? it's suggested it is but not clarified, i'm guessing he is but again any ideas or theories?

Q.3 What happend to the lady with the strange grandson that Donna visited, did she even really exist?

Q.4 When Josie Packard died it was mentioned that she was very light. it is said in some cultures the body becomes lighter in death as the soul leave the body... did this have anything to do with Bob and his penchant for souls?

Well i think that is about it for now, once again im sorry if i've annoyed anybody going over old ground its just all ive been able to think about since the series ended... Thank You

Long time reader first time poster.

A.1-Never explained, the two theories i've come across are; 1-Something to do with the coffee (perhaps a new story line), 2-bob trying on new vessels.

A.2-Looks like it.

A.3- FWWM look at this further.

A.4-I think her low body weight has more to do with her soul being trapped in the Great Northern.

Sorry for the brief reply, its worth wild doing some more research as there has been lots of interesting speculations over the last 20 years.

Good luck on your search.

Unrelated, but check these videos out, it's very Peaksy.

1. I was under the impression it had something to do with the lodge(s) or BOB or both - since iirc Laura (or was it Teresa Banks) had similar hand convulsions before her arm went completely numb. And we all know what happened next.

2. Yes he is, and it is more or less screaming "hey Donna I'm your dad!" with all of the hints and the actual dialog Donna has with her parents and then Ben himself.

3. Well chronologically she/they first appeared in FWWM, but her appearance in the series was a crucial part in Donna's investigation into Laura's murder.

4. Didn't Deputy Hawk or someone say that she died because of fear or something? Well either way yea it was probably because of Bob that her weight dropped.

1. the end of that episode shows the entrance of the black lodge and BOB emerging from it, with only his right hand visible in spotlight at first, then he shortly is full bodied. the three hands shaking on different people in TP simply foreshadow it. tho it could be argued he is looking for a vessel, as cooper's right hand shakes along with pete and diner counter lady, but thats up to interpetation.
2.yes, doc haywards anger is a pretty good give away that it is the truth.
3.mrs. tremont/chalfont. her and her grandson are lodge spirts. like A_Lonely_Soul said, watch FWWM for more on them.
4.cooper did say she died of fear, but that doesnt explain the weigth loss. im not a very good judge of weight on people, but id guess joan chen at the time was maybe 110-120lbs? and i think josie's weighed 65lbs. if im remembering it correctly, so she lost approximately half her weight. id say it has more to do with the trapped in the wood of the great northern thing. its an interesting, almost poetic irony for her character to end up trapped there, though many comments ive read usually cant get past the cheap looking digital effects. cant say i blame them. BOB shows up because(this is cooper's explaination mind you) he is attracted to fear. he also directly mocks cooper(similiar to the way cooper mocks himself in the final scene of the series when he is possessed by BOB), but bob needs a human to inhabit in order to inflict pain and sorrow(garmonbozia) unless he's in the black lodge. there it seems he can do pretty much anything. but at the time of josie's death, BOB and LMFAP are just cooper's vision, like the giant only he and the log lady can see at the roadhouse in ep.14.

As people here have replied, it could be something about BOB trying new vessels. However I like to think it means BOB's presence affects each and every one of us and especially those are more vulnerable who are feeling strong emotions at the moment.

Rami - right on again. you said what i was trying to say. teresa's arm going numb could have been because of the owl ring she wore on her left hand, or even possibly leland injured her in some way. i dont think there's any definitive answer there. just the mystery. and the idea that BOB was trying new vessels by shaking their right arm uncontrollably doesnt fit with BOB's perogative. leland invited him in as a child, laura endured six years of rape but still wouldnt let herself become him so he had to kill her, cooper failed in making it through the BL without fear(and giving up his soul in the process) and BOB took his form once outside the lodge. he doesnt seem to just randomly inhabit people. also, shaking is the human body's natural response to fear and anxiety. with that in mind, and BOB entering TP, what Rami said makes a whole lot more sense.

Yes...I've touched on that subject before and I personally thought that this 'phenomena' related to possession of some sort.  In my other hobby of researching the 'occult' I have come across this on a few occasions...relating to symptoms of invocation of spirits using magical means etc...a well known example being the 'Babalon Working' by Hubbard & Parsons.

That is my input.

bluefrank, you are great. i never thought id be hearing about babylon working, or parsons, hubbard, crowely, etc. on this board. i totally agree with your facts, but i still have to point to the evidence in the series and FWWM, namely that BOB must be let in by the person he is trying to inhabit i.e. leland and laura. laura didnt let him in, and (maybe knowingly) put on the owl ring so that BOB could not have her garmonbozia. with only these two examples, its hard for me to make that jump that just because the shaking hands are visual cues to BOB's exit of the BL at the end of ep.27 that he's trying to possess them. i think Rami had it right in that the people(we see three) of TP are picking up on the spirits that come from the darkness underneath and outside the veneer of small town america and good coffee and pie.
i find the possession arguement strained because i dont see enough in the work itself for me to make that conclusion. it is a postsupposition.
