I like this article especially when it says that perhaps more than being breakthrough and inspiring later TV productions - it is important how Twin Peaks "broadened public taste (...) and left the American mainstream a whole lot wider". I sometimes think that this direct influence that Twin Peaks had tends to be overrated. Not because it wasn't so strong. It was. But did it really make so much good for TV? This I'm not sure about. But I am not a TV watcher anyway.
QUOTE: I was invited to a sneak preview of a TV pilot. I didn't know anything about it, but the moment I heard its opening theme music, I got shivers that didn't go away. Oh how well I do know what the author means!
