I see the Gold Box is on sale on Amazon, and I tempted to buy it.  But, I already have the two season sets on DVD.  My question is has there been any rumblings of a Blu-ray release?  I've held out this long, and have copied the pilot off Bravo so...

Also, are there any features on the season box sets that did not carry over to the Gold Box?

Thanks,

Charles

I only heard of BD version right after the Gold Box came out but obviously nothing solid. I personally wouldn't expect to see anything for a couple of years at the least.

There are brand new features on the Gold Box which are not in the two season set. And there are some features that are only in the two season sets that are not in the Gold Box (if memory serves me right)

I just purchased the R2 Gold Box from e-bay a couple of weeks ago when it first came out and I think it's TOTALLY worth the money.  I must admit I was kinda hoping there'd be maybe a couple of more deleted scenes on, but I wasn't too bothered because I was buying it purely for the episodes and was literally jumping for joy and grinning like an idiot because after 20 years of having naff worn out wobbly videos it is really such a joyful experience to see the series in  it's entirety restored to it's original colour and quality.  I think best of all were Episode 1 (s2) with Laura's "proper" murder, bits from Ronette waking from her coma and Maddy's murder and episode 27 (which previously the tape was so bad midway through it used to stop playing!)  so I can watch 27, 28, 29 like I haven't seen them in years!

Also, I noticed that there were several, little bits, I hadn't been aware of and snippets that appear to have been changed.  In S2 ep. 1, when Ronette awakens from her coma, you don't see her walking over the bridge or getting her memory back and groaning in that section on the video, so I didn't remember seeing that part at all, but it was cool it was added - also I noticed in the bit where Maddy sees Bob on the carpet with the blood was gone, only the blood was left, which I thought was a shame since I think it's actually cooler and scarier with him in.

Oh! And a bit where Hawk goes "uh-oh" when Lucy walks past him huffily, even little things like that there were extras or maybe it was just cos the sound quality was fully restored it was so much better.  I also think it's fantastic that  now we have BOTH Pilot versions on Disc one, and they would also be worth spending the money on, since you only get the original Pilot version one on the green S1 boxset. (Since it is an extra 15-20 minutes or so of footage). The disc 10 special features was excellent - great to see all you guys at the fest too! It looks great!  And I love the David Lynch interview with Kyle and Madchen.  I'm wondering though, if they had the "Previously on Twin Peaks" bits on the S" if you buy it separately since they aren't available on the Gold Box, but on the S! they are.  Anyway no complaints here!

I bought and then sold both seasons and then bought the gold box. Purely for the pilot, and the little documentaries I am watching as I type this. Cool stuff ;)
