This is a variation of a desktop i've seen on deviantart that people use in conjunction with Rainmeter (which i actually use at the moment on my laptop, as shown below). If you install the software, you can create all kinds of awesome features and interactive "skins" and "themes".

To be honest i got bored quickly and have had this desktop for a while. It's pretty sweet having the dugpa posts, tweets and bbc news on the right and the time, date, etc though. It's nothing that the sidebar can't do, just cooler looking i guess.

Oh, and you can do that Twin Peaks stuff in the first post too. Of course.
