Region 2 Gold Box Release - Georgia Coffee |

Hi All. I've just purchased the Gold Box edition in the UK and I can't seem to find the Georgia Coffee commercials that are listed as being on the US edition. Can anyone tell me whether these ads are hidden 'easter eggs' or menu items. I'm sure these items were meant to be released on the UK edition as the BBFC (who classify films / dvd material here in the UK) passed this material. See here: http://www.bbfc.co.uk/website/Classified.nsf/0/AD1EC43F5CA20EB78025754500530F20?OpenDocument Have they just been left off? I'm pretty fed up if so and this sort of thing annoys me. It's annoying enough that the Season 1 and Season 2 additional material aren't on the Gold Box set (I've just purchased Season 1 as well - for the commentaries, but would rather not buy Season 2 as well). Looking at the regional differences for FWWM, they also seem to contain different extras too. Sorry if I'm coming across all moany, but I love this series and would love all the released stuff, without having to buy regional variations to get hold of extras.

Hmmm, I thought all the extras were on the last disc. Have you "forgotten something"?

I can't find them. If someone with the US edition could possibly let me know where these coffee commercials are (i.e. which disc, which menu / sub-menu, whether they are hidden easter eggs etc.), that would be great. Alternatively, if someone else has the UK edition and has found them, could they let me know where they are.

I have the Region 4 (Australian) box. The five Georgia Coffee commercials are on Disc 10 under "The Black Lodge Archive"
... along with the Falling Music Video, 1-900 Hotline, Lucy Bumpers and Image Galleries.

Many thanks for confirming the location and posting the images. Unfortunately, this confirms my fears, in that the UK box set does not include the commercials. Unless, of course, they are hidden / located elsewhere. They are not on the menus for disk 10. This doesn't explain why the BBFC cleared these ads during the classification process, though. Perhaps they were due to be released and were either left off accidentally or, alternatively, some other issue (copyright etc.) cropped up at the last minute. Does anybody know of any other way of getting good quality versions of these? Also, does anyone know if the 'Reflections on the Phenomenon of Twin Peaks' and 'Pretty As A Picture: The Art Of David Lynch' documentaries from other regions FWWM dvds have ever had a UK release and, if so, where I can get hold of these? Many thanks.

The 'Reflections...' documentary and 'Pretty As A Picture' have never been released in the UK. You'll have to buy the US DVDs of FWWM (region 1) and Pretty As A Picture (region 0) to get those documentaries. The (deleted) Korean FWWM DVD included the 'Reflections...' documentary and Pretty As A Picture (on a second disc) and pops up on eBay from time time.

Wow, that sucks that the Georgia Coffee commercials aren't on the UK disc :( They are always a big hit at the Twin Peaks Fest when we show them.

It's my understanding that the Georgia Coffee commercials were very expensive to accquire for the CBS/Paramount Gold Box set and that the deal for the commercials were only for CBS. It's likely that Universal Playback didn't want to spend the extra cash to accquire the rights for these. I wonder about the Log Lady intros. Weren't those left off the UK Season 1 discs or am I not remembering this right?

The UK season one set included the Log Lady intros. I would have bought the UK Gold Box, if only for completist reasons, but all these years of radio silence from Universal Playback have left a sour taste in my mouth. I feel sorry for anyone who had no option but to wait for the UK Gold Box but generally speaking the people who are most likely to appreciate things like Georgia coffee commercials and postcards imported a set in 2007. I can understand why Universal Playback (hiss) would refuse to pay a larcenous amount of money for adverts nobody except the obsessives will miss. The argument for waiting for a UK release was that people wanted a R2 set with English writing on the packaging and now they can go out and buy one. The Georgia coffee commercials are all on YouTube. If anybody feels they've been short-changed, I should point out I paid as much in shipping and import duties for season two and the Gold Box as they paid for their Universal Playback Gold Box. The Georgia coffee commercials are a small price to pay for a R2 set with no import duties or shipping costs.

Many thanks for everyone's help / comments. I have managed to order a copy of the R1 of FWWM from somebody here in the UK, so will have that (including the 'Reflections' documentary) in the next 2 - 3 days, I guess. As for the coffee commercials, I have found 4 of them, one of which is in very poor quality (The Rescue), on Youtube. I can't seem to find the 'A Mystery of 'G' & Pet (Alternate) one anywhere. So if anyone could direct me to this, or a good quality version of the final one, that would be great.
