There is a scene in TP where Bobby Briggs leaves the office of Ben Horne and the bag he has slung over his shoulder.......the strap on the bag lets go, and the bag falls to the floor........And Lana (is that her name....That sexy woman who is married to the mayors brother....) is running through the hall, because her old boyfriend is dead......i think it is episode 17 or 18 or something...... I just wondered if anyone knows if this thing with the bag falling to the floor was something accidental.....or if it was in the script.......i get the feeling that it is something accidental that they just decided to have in the episode.....??? Do anybody know? I need the truth of this matter, i've become obsessed!!! He!
i dont believe i've handed my gun over to anybody in my ENTIRE LIFE!!.......you wanna know something else i've never done?........I've never crossed the ocean.....Never got to China!

I'm going to take a leap and assume you aren't being ironic with the question, and say it's probably something Dana doesn't even remember, but I'd wager that if it doesn't further the plot or enhance characterization or the message of the scene, it wasn't scripted.
If you look at the TP scripts, you hardly see stage direction so either an actor came up with it or it just happened.
There are many things you can read into in TP, but like the egg on the gas farm sign, this isn't one of them.

I wish i was ironic! You are probably right.....On a second look it feels like it's not intended that the bag was planned to fall off his shoulder...... Maybe Leland is trapped inside the strap? If Josie can be trapped inside that knob, why can't somebody be trapped inside a bag.........Or maybe it is a symbol........it represents the awakening of Leo from coma!!! It's an omen....!! Now i am ironic!

The thing with the bag WAS scripted: 2. INT. CORRIDOR OUTSIDE BEN'S OFFICE - DAY
Bobby exits into the corridor. He is stopped by a SCREAM behind him that starts far away and moves towards him. A drop dead blonde, LANA BUDDING MILFORD, draped in her bridal nightgown, rushes by him. Bobby smiles helplessly slowly closing the door on the strap of the camera case. The Bride resumes her scream going around the corner. Bobby starts to follow only to be yanked back by the strap caught in the door. http://www.glastonberrygrove.net/texts/script19.html

Very cool, Gordon! So it's supposed to be caught in the door.......hmm....I didn't notice that.....i'll have to pay attention next time i look at the scene..... I wonder why they put something like this in the scene......I guess they have to put random stuff like this in the scenes sometimes, to make it more realistic?? Or make it more stimulating or something....can't have a moment where there is no action of some sort........??

I was surprised when I read that in the script, I always thought it was a goof they decided to leave in the episode, like the guy saying his name in the Pilot... But the reason why they wrote and shot that escapes me... The clumsiness of Bobby as Ben's employee? I thought that was already obvious... That Lana has inmediately made him nervous? That's just plain silly...but ahg...it's a Lana scene... Random season 2 quirkiness with no charm or purpose? My bet goes for the last one... I've always a hard time deciding if Lana is crying or laughing in that scene...

My log & I were just watching that episode, and it looked to me like Dana/Bobby tripped/slipped iirc but perhaps left it in for dramatic effect?
