My half-sister committed suicide (or so I was told) a while back while she was living with my father in a trailer in Oregon (just like T.Banks). When I contacted the police in Oregon, the police lady told me that there were drugs involved and there were "bad" living conditions. The police closed the case as a suicide, although my father was a convicted felon and had the police around sometime earlier for a domestic abuse incident involving my sister. When I asked, the police whether a toxicology report was done, she said that they were still waiting on one (six months later) and that the case should not have been closed without that report.

I also have an abusive father.  Although as much as I love Twin Peaks and can relate to it, I think my case bears more similarity to a Harmony Korine film...

I think we all can relate to TP in more ways than one.

Harmony Korine didn't make Kids, he wrote it.  He made Gummo and Julien Donkey-Boy in years after, and yes wrote a few books.

Anyway, I somewhat understand your sadness OP.  Loss of life and people's apathetic attitude to it is horrible.

For me death is the ultimate theme of Twin Peaks.  Every event in the series stems from one death.
