This is the list for 2009.  These were rated by some scientists so it must be true. It's a quality of life measurement.

I may move to Tennessee where I have ancient family roots.  Love Louisiana but the humidity (and hurricanes) would kill me.  Hawaii?  I still don't consider it a 'state' but then again, neither is the District of Columbia.

Booth, like Schrodinger's Cat, lives in an undetermined state.

Hah!  Right you are.  But I think he lives in a province and not a state.  Booth that is.  Who knows where Schrodinger's Cat lives.

My happy state of Florida is having its happiness tested lately, with over a week now of 20 degrees at night and not getting out of the 40's during the day. The fruit and vegetable growers are particularly unhappy.

look at all the blue(democratic) states down low

Bleep you, & bleep the establishment, and bleep all of you who are trying to make me part of the unestablished establishment.

There is some political correlation but there's also a warm weather commonality for many of the happy states.  Except for California.

That may prove the adage that ignorance is bliss, eh?  Interesting that my birth state of Va. is much higher than my new home of Wa.   There is a lot of SAD related suicides, particularly  in Seattle, but it's sunny & warm today!!!

Hawaii is a Democratic state. Florida is sometimes.   When they can figure out those complex ballot thingies.

I spent a big chunk o' my life in Hawai'i - it is definitely a state, as well as a state of mind. Good ole USA politics, there.

Ah, science!

Eventually, I will relocate to and hopefully die in Hawaii.  I hear nothing but good things about life there.

My state is slightly happier than the median, which is how I usually feel. Must be accurate!

There seems that there might be a be a slight correlation with population density.

Where did you get that from Susan?  I would be interested in their methodology.
