In Ep. 1 Audrey ask Coop if he likes her ring. Since the owl ring wasn't mentioned until FWWM I figured it may just be nothing but then couldn't help but feel they wanted to go a different direction with Audrey. Which leads me to her dancing. Coop noticed Leland was dancing after Laura's death and that the little man danced too but Audrey was seen dancing a lot too. Add in the fact that Audrey and Coop were supposed to have a relationship but was botched makes me think Audrey was either going to be a next victim or was at one point intended to be the killer. Wild thought but hey thats what Twin Peaks does to you.

Hmmm i don't know about the theory. It does get an A for originality.

the ring in episode one I'm sure is just a character detail. but like every other discovery from the producers might have led to going back and saying, "hey, that's a neat coincidence; maybe we can connect this." I don't believe we have any mention of rings and golden circles until the second season. But clearly Lynch was always delving into Audrey's ethereal side when directing an episode. He scrapped the church scene with Audrey and the Haywards for a diner scene and makes Audrey compulsively dance. He juxtaposes the shooting script of the second season premiere to make Audrey's prayer more telepathic; he shoots the end of the second season's second episode to make the red curtains have the same effect of the Red Room when Audrey makes her phone call to Cooper awakening him from his dream. I don't think these are things that are set in stone, just organic discoveries found based on the way Lynch works with his actors.

They could've even had a nun foil her "loose feet" (who cares if its a Catholic church or not?): a foreshadowing of Annie's Coop snatching!!!

To answer the OP, I believe it is absolutely a convenient coincidence. However, I have never thought about this seriously ( I do recall Audrey mentioning the ring (Owl Cave Ring!) to Coop in the Great Northern at breakfast), but a dreamer can dream about the possibilities, can't he? Can't he?
"Harry, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it, don't wait for it, just let it happen. Could be a new shirt at the men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot, black coffee. Like this." -Dale Cooper
