Floating Into the Night, the album with 'Nightingale', 'Falling' and 'The World Spins'? It's a great one. Many of it's other songs could have been in Twin Peaks.
I sincerely hope the Fest (anniversary!) organizers can convince her to come back. This always comes up when Julee is mentioned, but the night she sang in the barn, she cast a spell in those woods that was (there's no other word for it) magical.

I love "Into the Night" until that jarring '80s-midi-horn-stab crescendo part toward the end. So awful and dated.

Yep. That's how I feel about the whingy synths in 'Voice of Love.'
This album I am hot/cold about. It has the vocal version of the above track, and She Would Die for Love' (the FWWM theme), Up In Flames & Kool Kat Walk from WAH (thought I prefer the instrumental versions of these.) Some of the other songs just plain suck, IMO. Such as 'Friends for Life.'

This is the second time I've discovered that a musical theme in TP came from a song of hers. Any more of these surprises? *opens up iTunes*

Yeah, jeez. I always skip that track when i listen to the album, although as a whole i personally think the CD is pretty great. I love In My Other World, and the songs you mentioned (except Kool Kat Walk, which i also skip).
Oh, and if i ever listen to the first album whilst i'm falling asleep, that part in Into The Night that you guys mentioned still scares the shit out of me. I always forget it's there.

Are you guys talking about that sudden rough part of the song that proceeds " So dark"?

I don't like that part either, looks out of place in an otherwise cool tune... Good thing the record player in Jacques' cabin was skipping or Coop would have jumped and shoot Harry...

I, too, skip that one, hopesfall.

Dunno if Lynch wrote the lyrics for all of those before or after he wrote the music, DF. On those albums, the songs of hers are more songs of his. I can see why she felt owned by him.
Have you checked out The Art of Being a Girl, her lounge album that Lynch had nothing to do with? She was promoting that when she came to the Festival. She also sang her Elvis cover from the Until the End of the World soundtrack, Summer Kisses Winter Tears-- a personal favorite.
