Hey guys I'm new on here but an old fan of TP!!! I'm not sure if anyone has posted anything about the Raveonettes in the past???? They're a band from Denmark and have been likened as an exact music equivalent of Twin Peaks! Listening to 'The Beat Dies' I can imagine Laura dancing at her high school prom or sitting on her bed writing in her diary to 'Blitzed'. Check out their new single 'Last Dance' and tell me you don't feel it!!!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oTKSansInZM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AwCAque3Qdc Ta ta

I sure they'll be happy to know they aren't getting paid for it! I listen to Lust Lust Lust quite often, and although I get the sense that they're aiming for "Lynchian", that doesn't prevent me from enjoying it a lot. Haven't worked my way back to their earlier stuff yet, but I will.

Gotta say I'm with Booth on this one - I've been a Raveonettes fan for a while, and while they sometimes draw from the same well, i.e. hyper-real version of 50's songs it's not the case for everything they do. That said it's always good to get people listening to them, they are fantastic.

*Cough*
Now don´t tell me you´re one of those people who think Denmark is the capital of Sweden?! Btw "This is the last dance" has been on my mind all weekend:) Love The Ravonettes but never connected them to the Lynchian universe. Ditte

I only own one song by them, though I am familiar with the music. Its a cover of "My Boyfriend's Back" On the Stubb's The Zombie soundtrack, all but the last are covers of 50s era songs. Here it is: 1. Lollipop - Ben Kweller 2. My Boyfriend's Back - The Raveonettes 3. Earth Angel - Death Cab For Cutie 4. Shakin' All Over - Rose Hill Drive 5. Strangers In The Night - Cake 6. There Goes My Baby - The Wakmen 7. Everyday - Rogue Wave 8. All I Have To Do Is Dream - The Dandy Warhols 9. Mr. Sandman - Oranger 10. If I Only Had A Brain - The Flaming Lips 11. Tears On My Pillow - Clem Snide 12. Lonesome Town - Milton Mapes 13. The Living Dead - Phantom Planet

Mather Louth & Radio Noir was chosen to play at the David Lynch themes burlesque show at Bordello in LA recently. Very moody saxophones, upright bass, rockabilly guitars, fatale bete noir of a lead singer and a retro feel that definitely put the crows in the proper mood!

This is the first I saw of them: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yCPEwq0BIQY It might place them in a better context, especially given the new single.
