I personally liked the character i liked how he made fun of twin peaks and country life and how he made fun of the people in the town including the sherrif ed hurley and deputy andy.

I think when they turned albert into a good guy who was friends with the sherriff it took something away from his character. He was the the opposite of cooper in that cooper liked country life but albert he disliked country life.

My favorite albert episode i think may have been the first episode of season 2.

Agreed.  His reaction to Ed's story about Nadine is hilarious.  I also love his first appearance in season 1, when he immediately starts insulting people.  Classic...

I loved both sides of Albert, asshole and nice guy... It showed that he's not just a simple smartass jerk, but also a good friend of his friends and in some ways a lovable guy...

I've always loved Albert, most especially for his snarkiness above all else. But personally I appreciated that they showed the "softer side" of Albert because it made him more than just a delivery device for punchlines. Up to the point where he made his speech to Truman about being a "naysayer and a hatchetman in the fight against violence", Albert was barely even 2-dimensional. Once we were allowed to see that he had actual depth...that things like what was happening in Twin Peaks really bothered him and made him want to work harder for justice and good to prevail...that's when Albert became a real character, fleshed out in full 3-D.

Personally I always found Albert to be Lynch/Frost's way of showing the two sides of the FBI persona; on one hand, they come in and appear arrogant and look down on local authority because FBI agents are typically well-educated and have jurisdiction over local law enforcement in those cases. But on the other hand, they do care about bringing about justice and keeping order in the world, even if they don't show it.

He was my 'fav' character...from when the show originally ran & aired.

I found his blunt 'insult' thing very, very amusing, but then I've a warped sense of humour anyway...he added some great contrast to the other players.  His 'love' declaration rant was awesome too and it made perfect sense...considering his character, it explained everything.

Love, love, love the Albert.

I ran from the noise and the silence, from the traffic on the streets
