Is it just me or is everybody (or all the whore - costumers. What is the english word for those who those who buy sex from prostitutes?) very positive to Blackie in the first season, and in the second everybody is very negative to her.......and in the first she is not a heroin addict junkie, but not in the second..... With regards to that character or especially the attitudes of the others towards her, in this you find a continuity breach? What do you think, my dear motherfuckers?
i dont believe i've handed my gun over to anybody in my ENTIRE LIFE!!.......you wanna know something else i've never done?........I've never crossed the ocean.....Never got to China!

It's not a continuity breach, but character development. First we see Blackie as a sharp, in-control woman who provides entertainment for the brothers Horne.
The fact that she is controlled by Jean Renault and kept hooked on drugs by Ben are reveals that develop the character.
The characters that don't have dark secrets (Pete is an exception) in Twin Peaks are pretty boring.

I accept that it is a character development, but i still think it was a pretty major difference in attitudes towards blackie straight away from season 1 to season 2.........In season 1 everybody thinks she is hot and stuff like that, and then suddenly in season 2 she is not worth anything to the same people. Its just my aesthetic feel that gets offended......Its a little bit dissonant.
And by the way, Pete did have a dark secret.....He played chess!!!!!!!

By the way, a couple of years ago i was member of the david lynch site.........and i remember there was some small new introductions to the Twin peaks series.........David Lynch introduces Twin Peaks.......and you see him.........and there is flashing of lights.........and i think there was a lot of wind......it was like a very chaotic introduction..he was shouting and stuff.....like he was in a storm. Has anybody else seen this? I never heard anybody talk about this.

I like the shift between the two seasons. granted, I'm sure it wasn't even thought about until the summer drafting for the next season and was used once the Audrey drugged/kidnapping plot was set in place. But I like it and think it works. It's like its the end of the work day and she can lower her own mask and needs her fix to keep her going. it's the private versus public Blackie. And the lesbian tone is still there as well. This never bothered me and was an exciting reveal -like when Bobby cries with Dr. Jacoby or Audrey sobs while watching Leland and the Icelanders dance.

I second that, Audrey Horne.
I also disagree that everyone thinks she's hot in the first season. She is what she is: a cathouse procuress, and an aging one at that. Think of Blanche DuBois, who is seductive out of habit. She may not be hot anymore, but still likes being treated like she's hot stuff.
And we never see her with "johns," just business associates (Coop and Ed don't count. They are flirting out of respect.) Blackie's not a whore; she's a madame. She makes men feel welcome and attractive, and then sends them off to get laid by someone else.
What is Ben's objective in the great scene where she is first introduced? To have a stab at the new girl. He's in a rakish mood, and so reads a Shakespeare sonnet.
What is her objective? She is flirting to gain his favor. Why? Probably to get heroin from him. They're also probably ex lovers, and this is a ritual greeting of familiarity from her more youthful days that ends in her scoring dope from him.

lol- I was going to give those same examples. Nicely said. Though doubtful her motivation in the first scene is to get her fix (probably wasn't even thought of). But that doesn't matter. Her objective is to promote business, make her clients feel welcomed. She's a business man. And it's even more clear in retrospect that Ben and Jerry are her bosses. And there's a glimpse of this when the OEJ's girl picks up the phone -"I'll tell Blackie." like battle stations and everyone act interested.

I thought Blackie was in great shape for a junkie. She was very focused on business and not bad looking for a woman of her age that is shooting up.

Besides, unless I'm forgetting something, we don't actually see any one character's attitude towards Blackie change. The worst treatment she gets in Season 2 is from Jerry and Jean. Jerry had very little interaction with Blackie in Season 1, and Jean didn't even show up until Season 2.

But i've been thinking about this TP introduction i saw a couple of years ago on the david lynch site......Anybody seen this stuff? Its David lynch introducing TP........and you see him......and maybe he is wearing sunglasses? Anyway, its like he's in a middle of a storm.......and i think its noisy.........and i think one was an introduction............and then one which is like the opposite.........what you call it.........an outroduction.......i think he was thanking for watching TP........."Thanks for watching TP".....something like that.................i just remember them as cool........
i dont believe i've handed my gun over to anybody in my ENTIRE LIFE!!.......you wanna know something else i've never done?........I've never crossed the ocean.....Never got to China!
