For the original poster, I would probably point your to twinpeaks.org . They have a great frequently asked questions section of their site. That question may not specifically be answered, but still, it's worth a read for sure.

The Giant? I'd say he's just one of the "owls." Like the Little Man from Another Place, he's one of the "dream" characters that inhabits the lodge. And like the Little Man, I don't think he's necessarily good or bad. I think both those characters are concerned with maintaining a balance, so their actions are only to achieve some sort of balance (In Fire Walk With Me, we see that the Little Man is trying to get back his corn/pain and sorrow from Bob).

It's all theories, but those are my thoughts. Hopefully, you'll get some others who are not as negative in their replies.

Angry Mob: Try to keep in mind that with the Gold edition box set and the seasons on DVD there are a lot of newer fans that didn't watch the show when it was originally aired and are catching up to the rest of us. The only thing I can offer you guys for your indignation at being asked a simple question, that may have sparked a good discussion, is a midol and a pony to go with your 12 year old tantrum.
