...a season 2 box-set from play.com

yay! Not properly seen season 2 for a couple of years, have been watching my pilot / season 1 / FWWM compulsively.

am working extra this week but next week am planning a peak-a-thon of mammoth proportions, with coffee and donuts :-)

The Norwegians are leaving!

I strongly suggest getting the Gold Box if you still can and it's available in your country... Excellent quality in all the episodes, Pilot's alternative ending, Log Lady intros, postcards and more stuff...

But of course if you don't want to buy season 1 and the Pilot again that's another matter...

I found the Gold boxset at FYE for 80 bucks. I have more than enough to buy it, but I think I'll wait until I really want to rewatch the whole thing again.

That's definitely a more money than sense price.

I haven't been able to find it anywhere else.

They also had Lost Highway and Blue Velvet for 14 bucks each, which I felt compelled to buy but didn't. I'll eventually amass a Lynch collection when I'm in the mood.

Amazon is selling it for $60. Which is still a bit too much.

I'm not very big on online ordering, as I like to physically hold the boxset. I could spend a while in a video store just looking at those things.

Yeah I like to see things as they are first too, but if I see that I can get it much cheaper online, I'll get it from there and then I can hold it as much as I want.

I bought it the first week it came out, and I think I payed $129 or something ridiculous like that!  $60 is a steal - buy it now!!!!!!  It will be the best thing in your dvd collection, I promise you!

Jerry: "We're holding it in a phone booth?"

Well, I just moved back to the states, so I'll eventually start buying stuff online, using your strategy.

The Gold Box is just over £60 on Amazon UK, but you can get an imported Region 1 set for £35!

Pretty much every DVD player ever has a region hack available, so that's a no-brainer.

Tell me more about this "region hack". And just in case you're going to say "use Google", I'm a Yahoo person.

I remember a long time ago seeing a website with a huge list of brands and models of DVDs and how to turn them into region free; it involved codes and stuff to do with the remote, I'm not exactly sure... I considered briefly to do it, but I don't buy any region 1 (I'm in region 2) titles anyway...

I'm sure there are some tech experts around here that could give you more details...

A relative ordered a DVD for me and it sounds like something small and simple. I hope there's a region hack available for it, as I have region 4 discs in my collection, some which I really enjoy watching.

As soon as you get it, let me know the make and model and i'll hook you up.

It usually involves turning the player off and back on again, opening the DVD tray, and entering a sequence of numbers (And in somecases pressing menu buttons). It's very easy.

Thank you, that's a very nice offer. That procedure reminds me of old video game cheats.
