Hmmm, favorite endings. If that means an ending where I couldn't wait until the next one (which was almost always), or what I think was really neat-O. every damn thing in that first season kept me hooked. The pilot with the gloved hand is great -but was probably also the introduction to the world. Cooper's dream, and snapping along to the beat. I appreciated the craft from Lynch's direction. But in terms of pure fan and screaming... Audrey in Cooper's bed. Cooper getting shot. The second season, the season premiere I was never riveted by BOB in the sense that I didn't care who killed Laura Palmer and got it was the catalyst for a deranged soap. My favorite ending was Audrey calling Cooper and getting caught. "Trouble Miss Horne? You don't know what trouble is, not by a long shot." Loved that little gasp Fenn does and surrounded by the red drapes. I love the ending to 2.007 with Cooper's face over the red drapes, and needed the next episode STAT. I love the ending to 2.008 with Cooper and Audrey, and the finding of Maddy's body. And I guess 2.006 with Cooper declaring the killer is at "The Great Northern Hotel." The killer's reveal was looming and it was a great cliffhanger for a week -who's at the Northern? Ben? Audrey? Leland? Pete? There were plenty of well made endings- "my name is Windom Earle?"; Leo's awakening; Bob's reappearance in the grove- but I just wasn't as invested. I was extremely excited when the episode ended in Diane Keaton's episode because Earle dropped the message off to Audrey and Cooper found the mask. Up until then I thought they were just giving the other ensemble players their proper due and we'd finally get to the Earle/Audrey/Cooper plot that had been building from 2.001 through 2.008. I hated the ending when Leland died and the computer generated owl zoomed into the lens. The "How's Annie" ending never did much for me because I didn't care about Annie or most of the characters by then. If it had been "How's Audrey?" I would have been on the edge of my seat with a much more full circle payoff. Hmmm, I also really liked the This is the Diary of Laura Palmer ending.
