I think it is perfect just the way it is, but from a technological standpoint, how would the show be affected if it was made today? (Imagine cell phones, internet, forensic advancements, and everything else that is available now, but not then, etc.) How would it have affected the storyline and the investigation itself? Think of specific scenes in our beloved magnum opus from Mr. Cool Hair himself, DL.
"Harry, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it, don't wait for it, just let it happen. Could be a new shirt at the men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot, black coffee. Like this." -Dale Cooper

I was floored when someone pointed out that there's not one, but two uses of a cel phone in TP.
