Just wondering if people ever get tired of his cliches which he fell into in the 90's.

Such as strange charcters like the guy from Lost Highway or The dwarf appearing in Mullholland Drive i wanna punch him like a little football he just looks annoying.

He's also a pain in the ass in interviews. When he goes on about the symbolism in Lynchs work i don't want to be rude but i don't like midgets. He seems intelligent though so i can't say he has  down syndrome which would be quite funny.

I was watching I am Sam the other day and looked bizzarely like a movie Lynch could have made.

Lynch is 5'11"

Oh, wait. You mean Michael J. He's a... unique individual that you can like or dislike regardless of his height.

I think you should watch Michael J. Anderson in Carnivale.  He's very interesting.

I also don't think the dwarf in a dream sequence was cliche until long after TP was filmed.

There's a dwarf on TV! How dare he? What a freak! Cherry pie, coffee, pie pie and coffee. These are cliches that happened because of people talking about Twin Peaks, not Twin Peaks itself.

Thought I laughed my ass off that a primary of In Bruges was an angry dwarf actor who had to play a dream sequence. Don't fuck with little people!

Exactly. I vote for even more dwarves in meta dream sequences. Twin Peaks: a legacy of keeping dwarves employed since 1990.

I once had a dwarf that lived down the street from me.  He always wore suits.

I just remembered the popping up out of the coffin scene in that movie! Good times.

Michael J. likes to party. Haven't seen him since 01, but he was sucking down the booze and partaking of the smoke with the best of us. But he's still crazy last I heard. He hangs out with Bonnie Aarons, the bum from MD.

That reminded me of this
QUOTE: Then there's the guy in Mulholland Drive who is so eager to look behind Winkie(penis)'s but has a heart attack when he finds a really dirty bum.
which still cracks me up a little.

Oompa Loompa, doompadee doo,
We have a perfect puzzle for you,
Oompa Loompa, doompadee dee,
If you are the Hitpack you'll listen to me.

What do you get when you take many drugs?
Snorting as much as David Lynch does?
You want people dead and you don't like dwarves.
What do you think we think of that?
I don't like your threads at all.

Oompa Loompa, doompadee dah,
If you're not stupid you will go far,
Why don't you go troll somewhere else?
Like the Oompa Loompa doompadee do.
Doompadee do.

Speaking of the little devil, I found myself unexpectedly temporary housemates with Mike!

He says "Midgets never stop liking getting stoned."

Coincidence and fate figure largely in our lives...

p.s. He wants you guys to watch Dwarf Trek!

"What? Did your life pass before your eyes? Cuppa tea, cuppa tea, almost got shagged, cuppa tea..."

Very silly!  I love silly!

I heard a rumor that he won't ever return to the fest.  Is this true?  I am sad thinking about it.

He very much would like to come back to the Fest, but was taking time off from Hollywood for a while.  He loves talking about Twin Peaks and saying things backwards, and is trying to dissect  Inland Empire. The organizers are working on other celebs first, but he says he would be down if his life/work permits and he's invited.

Can he actually speak backwards in the sense that you could give him any sentence to say, and he could do it? And actual backwards, not just the reversed spelling? It's just so amazing to me. Is his dialogue manipulated by Lynch in the series, or is that his actual voice?

I'd also just like to say that Mike Anderson's portrayal of Samson in Carnivale is brilliant. I'm rewatching it at the minute, and it's really striking me as one of the (many) highlights of the show.

I just finished watching Carnivale and he is awesome.  For the backwards talking in tp I believe it was recorded in backwards talk and then reversed.

12, I am curious.  How did you find yourself to be unexpected housemates with Mike?

I so agree.  Mike's Samson is a joy to watch, a strong center for a fabulous show.  I'm still disappointed the creators weren't able to bring that saga to a conclusion.

He and I were bumming at the same Festival friend's house while relocating in the area.

Mike knew how to speak backwards when he was a kid in school, and Lynch happened to want that for the Red Room-speak. He can do it on command, and well (it has been recorded it and played to test it.)
