i believe this wholeheartedly and without question

But no matter which parts of the film make me chuckle or grin or do really spot-on imitations, starting from the train car to the end of the movie will always sober me up and usually make me cry in some fashion. I don't really know why. I have partial explanations but it would take a while to go thru. Suffice it to say, Laura's murder in FWWM gives me the same kind of chills that Maddy's murder does in ep 14.

it does really pull it together in the end, that's for sure. once you get past that silly shot where leland is grinning like a goober and marching them both through the woods, it's all gravy from there on out

I suppose I chose the word "frustrating" because I think what most people were dying to know is what happened to Dale Cooper, not how Leland plowed Laura.

david lynch? purposely not giving his fans what they want and choosing to do something else based not on any artistic drive but on sheer contraryness!?!? nooooooooooooo, not DAVID!

That's supposed to make it less frustrating?

The only aspect where I think the movie is better than the show is the complete absence of damn fine coffee, donuts, pie, coffee, damn fine donuts, pie, coffee, donuts, pie, coffee, damn fine donuts, pie, coffee, donuts, pie, coffee, donuts, damn fine damn fine pie, coffee, donuts, pie, coffee, donuts, pie, coffee, donuts, damn fine pie, coffee, donuts, pie, coffee, damn fine donuts, pie, coffee, donuts, pie, coffee, donuts, pie, coffee, donuts, pie damn fine

I think that is almost hands-down the worst shot in the entire film. I'm sure at the time, after fifteen consecutive bong hits, it seemed like a brilliant move. But in retrospect, I hope everyone involved is duly ashamed.

I'm going to disagree and say that the worst shot is Twin Peaks High presents Leo and Shelly Johnson in The Taming of the Shrew.

i don't know, i kind of like how far back the camera is, and the angle it's shot from. makes the viewer feel like he's looking into a window or something.

That can't be the worst shot because it gave us two epic lines...."THIS IS WHERE WE LIVE, SHELLY!" and "The first thing you're gonna learn is to have a GOOD ATTITUDE! That's the KEY!" LEO WINS.

The scene gave you those lines, the shot is a different thing.

Oh...well...whatEVAH!

You're right though...that is a terrible shot. It looks like you're watching a school play.

Watch the movie late at night with the sound turned way up. You will be amazed at how it will enchance your experience with background noises and soundtrack subtleties.

If you havent noticed the noise then you have'nt seen the film.

The movie is as good as anything in the tv show if not better and is far more haunting taken in context it is one of Lynchs best films. Although it probably could have been better as there are a couple of things that don't work.

the pink room song was my fave. love seeing tersea banks & ronette in this film . wished they showed more of them both besides laura, donna. in this film. but that song with laura & Donna, just a great part, that song always keeps ringing in my ears ever since an old member here mentioned it. agent Chester Desmond is her name, I am sure and I remember a guy by the the name of PoA as well. he was cool as well

that's cool, i don't really consider myself to be especially well educated about the proper framing of a shot. :) plus there are certainly bigger fish to fry when criticizing that movie.

i really liked the concept that cooper's presence in the lodge somehow helped laura. that kind of defangs the idea that the good cooper is just stuck there forever. however, i don't understand the point of the scene where annie shows up in laura's bed. laura didn't seem to write it in her diary, and it didn't help anything. i guess they had to get the ring to her somehow.

I thought (and continue to think) that FWWM is full of brilliant scenes that don't add up to a coherent whole. It's as if we're seeing highlights from something much longer. Maybe it should have been done as a five-hour TV miniseries rather than a 2+ hour theatrical release. I thought Sheryl did a terrific job.

The question is, Where have you gone?

I love this film. First time I saw it I was floored. The only scene I find hard to watch is the whole "Gobble Gobble" scene. Othewise, it is a brilliant film that is one of Lynch's best if not his very best.

First reactions is the request---I was knocked back by the darkness, the pain, and though there were scenes I got into, by the end I was wondering "why did I put myself through that?"

I view it more as a symbiotic relationship.  One works in harmony with the other to sustain life.

"Harry, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it, don't wait for it, just let it happen. Could be a new shirt at the men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot, black coffee. Like this."  -Dale Cooper

After my first viewing, I was incredibly depressed, and it had nothing to do with the content of the movie.  I had built up in my mind visions of the movie being well-received, winning Oscars, and clearing the way for the return of Twin Peaks.  The audience reaction made it clear that wasn't going to happen.

I haven't laughed aloud like that on my own for quite a while. I think B just slipped into a parallel universe.
