Apparently it was a woman(not the brilliant and talented Ms. Mary Sweeney) her credits were removed. Does anyone know her name?
(Look at the fine print on Imdb, it explains how WGA writers are deprived of their due credit.)
I know lots and lots of people do treatments of Hollywood scripts until they barely resemble the originals, but if the heart of MD belongs to someone other than Lynch, I would like to at least give her recognition here.

I think MD's heart belongs to Dave, but if there is someone else in the picture other than M. Sweeney, yes, you're right, we should know.

There definitely was a woman's name in the writing credits on imdb when it was listed as a tv pilot.

I do not remember Mary having any writing input on it. My understanding is that Dave wrote it. In the pilot phase, we were posting The Straight Story, so I was not close to the writing angle,but when a year plus later, MD got new life as a feature, Dave called in his assistant Gaye Pope to help him with the revised movie script. But she did not have creative input, Dave likes to recite the action and dialogue and she would transcribe it.

According to an in depth analysis of MD,which explained in part all the similarities it shared with the Wizard of Oz,which is a fascination of Lynch's, it was primarily his baby. Anyone else read it.It was incredible and i viewed MD for the fourth time right after reading it....saw it in a whole new light.
