This is my continuation idea.

Twenty years have passed. The Pine Weasel turned out to be more adaptable than first thought.  Ghostwood has been reworked as a low density, low impact (many trees left in place) development and renamed Northwoods.  Ground is broken just in time for a serious economic downturn.

Northwoods is a looping development with lots of streets, lots of trees and lots of unfilled lots.  A few have been sold and houses built but the occupancy is at about 10%, say 20 houses on 200 lots.  In the woods.

The story?  Hell if I know.  What I would do is see who I could get from the original cast to come back and start from there.  Ideally it would open with a scene of Cooper and Annie (or Audrey) married with a daughter living in Northwoods.  This would mainly be so fans of the first series would do a serious WTF?

The idea would be to run both the contemporary story line along with a slow strip of the details of what has happened over the previous two decades.

The format would be; Premium network like HBO with a set number of episodes per season, maybe ten one hours with a two hour season opener, a two hour bridge episode and a two hour season closer.  Each hour would have a completely self contained story line in addition to the normal serial plots.  Every hour would have five minutes set aside for a dream sequence or something equally strange which would not have to be used if the creators did not wish to.

Thank you for your time.
