in my opinion one of the greatest mysteries in the whole Twin Peaks 'saga' is the relationship between these three women. How did Ronette and Laura get to know Teresa, knowing that she lived in Deer Meadow? Maybe FleshWorld? Why do they seem to be so happy that she has died when they remark, while giggling, that 'it has been one year'?....And how did Leland know Teresa? How could Bob know about Teresa? Again, these questions might be difficult to answer, as we know David Lynch usually puts enigmas in his films that rise from his subconscious and not from a rational understanding, but i'm sure there is something that ties these characters together......
I get the feeling that there is a very strong connection between Dear Meadow and Twin Peaks. Both towns share this undercurrent of corruption and evil, Deer Meadow being more decadent than Twin Peaks, but apart from the drug deal, I think they might have shared some sexual trade as well, and in fact Ronette and Laura might have found 'clients' in Deer Meadow through FleshWorld and might have come in contact with Teresa. But now why might Leland or Bob want to be close to Teresa? was she a friend of youth of Leland and therefore a due target for Leland's possession by Bob as an adolescent/child? Did she share a similar story with Laura and therefore that's why it holds such an interest for Bob? Or did Leland meet her due to his own conscious, normal, Bob-free adulterous desires, which made him want to find an escort or prostitute through FleshWorld? And then Bob made Leland see Teresa as a possible target...which got more and more dangerous when Leland finds out Teresa is 'corrupting' 'his Laura'?
I wanna know what you think. P.D: I found on Village Voice or some other film/pop culture review site a special of Twin Peaks that featured a flash animation map of all Twin Peaks characters and their correlations.Under the Laura character, it said all people related to her, and when I came upon Ronette and Teresa, both were named 'conspirators'. Isn't that interesting??

Welcome to the forum, commoneffect! I don't have a whole lot of thoughts about what you wrote, just a few random ones. Here they are: In FWWM, when Leland sees Teresa's picture in Flesh World, he says "You look just like my Laura". I always figured this was the whole basis of Leland's interest in Teresa. It's my belief that Leland's attraction to Laura was not caused by his posession by BOB, but rather the reverse: That BOB was drawn to the darkness already present in Leland's psyche and used it as a catalyst to manifest in the form we see. Therefore, my opinion would be that BOB is interested in Teresa only because Leland is. I always figured that Teresa was just "one of the girls" in that whole Laura/Ronette/Leo/Jacques situation. I, too, find Deer Meadow to be very interesting. I have another harebrained theory that Deer Meadow is the mirror image (the doppleganger, if you will) of Twin Peaks. In the Deer Meadow sequences in FWWM, we seem to be presented with a series of characters, locations and situations that are the opposite of what we see in Twin Peaks. That probably doesn't shed any light on the questions you're asking, but I thought it was interesting.

Oh so that was actually her picture in Flesh World!! Thanks, that just made things a lot clearer.....I was kind of confused about Leland's connection to her, but now I see he got to know her through FleshWorld. Yes, and Laura and Ronette's connection to Teresa is much simpler than I thought....In that club scene on FWWM they were probably just commenting and giggling about it out of their dopeyness :D......But then why did that site put Teresa and Laura as 'conspirators on Laura's death'??....they must clearly be wrong.....

Teresa was blackmailing Leland. She was going to use his daughter's drug use and hooking to sully his good name in Twin Peaks and get rich, but he caught on to the game. Possibly another reason he felt he had to kill her... she was no longer "good" (a viable vessel to inhabit.)
Jacques, Leo, and Ronnette were then, also, conspirators in her death because they contributed to her debauchery. Ruined, BOB wouldn't want her and would be compelled to kill her, instead.
Remember- Laura wanted to die. She was the biggest conspirator in her death.
