This question is sooooo '90s and I really don't care.  According to wikipedia and several other internet sources, in the pilot episode of The X-Files there is the framed homecoming picture of Laura Palmer sitting on Fox Mulder's desk.  Is this true or an urban legend? If so, that means Twin Peaks and X-Files take place in the same universe and that means Fox Mulder and Dana Scully could come to Twin Peaks and solve the mysteries of the Lodges and rescue Cooper possibly.  Can someone post a pic if this is true?  For X-Files fans, do you think Mulder and/or Scully have what it takes to crack the mysteries of Twin Peaks or would it go down as forever unexplained or would they be Lodge victims?  This is actually interesting if you take the characters and their personality traits and apply them to the mysterious world of Twin Peaks.

I can't find the pic anywhere on "the net".  I will NOT believe until I see it.

 Wikipedia:

The early 1990s cult hit Twin Peaks is seen as a major influence on the show's dark atmosphere and its often surreal blend of drama and irony. David Duchovny had appeared as a cross-dressing DEA agent in Twin Peaks, and the character of Mulder was seen as a parallel to the show's FBI Agent Dale Cooper.[2] Both shows were filmed in the Pacific Northwest.

In the pilot, Mulder is seen sitting at his desk, and among the clutter, a framed copy of the Laura Palmer "prom-queen" photo is seen

Is Fox Mulder the doppelganger of Denise Bryson?  This gets more interesting by the minute.  Have they met?  Are they related?

Sounds like an urban legend to me. As to your other point, I think it would be fascinating to watch Mulder & Scully try to unravel the mystery that is Twin Peaks. Like Cooper, Mulder has the ability to think around corners. Come to think of it, though, that ability didn't help Coop out too much in the end.

Would be interesting if someone could post a picture, because we've had this thread before and nothing was seen then anyway.

I don't have Season One on DVD to check. I don't ever remember seeing it either.  Sorry to bring up a duplicate thread, Booth, I'm sure that has never happened around here before.

I think Mulder would have the same fate as Cooper because he is so full of wide eyed wonder when it becomes to the paranormal.

Skeptical Scully is probably not strong enough mentally to face the unnatural face of the Lodge.

So no, I think both would end up trapped there (Scully may not even gain entrance) hanging out with Coop and Desmond (one and the saaaaaame) playing Guitar Hero.

Oh good you apologized, because that was totally the tone of my post.

I have all the X-Files DVD's... I just checked the pilot episode and saw NO picture of Laura Palmer anywhere. Only 2 or 3 minutes of the episode takes place in Mulders office, and there's nothing on his desk put a computer and piles of paperwork and files. The walls are covered with newspaper clippings and crime scene photos, but even using pause and slow-mo I couldn't find any Laura Palmer photos.

Thanks, Skyclad.  Whoever put that on wikipedia needs to delete it.  I got my hopes up for a moment though.

Along the lines of this thread...

I started watching my Northern Exposure DVD's again last night, and today I saw a Twin Peaks reference. Episode 5 or 6, titled "Russian Flu". There's a surreal dream-like sequence that takes place on some big lookout with a spotting scope mounted to it. Music similar to, maybe the exact TP music starts playing. Holling asks Joel if he wants anything to eat, and Joel replies "Do you have any cherry pie?". Holling says "No, but I have banana". Joel's girlfriend looks through the scope and say "What's that woman holding?". You can't see anything she's looking at, the camera faces only Joel's girlfriend. Holling looks into the scope and says "It looks like a log".

Just thought I'd post that bit.

I remember that. It was one of the few things on that show I found really unfunny. They just drive that joke into the ground.
