I think Moira Kelly is more endearing and a better actress, but I thought she brought a lot of realism to her Donna, which was well-placed in FWWM, as it focused on the "human" aspects of the Donna / Laura / best friends story.

I think LFB was just a bit more "wierd" though - she always struck me as quite blank and other-worldly (probobly due to the early effects of botox and an eating disorder  ) and this fitted in with the quirky series perfectly so i will sit on the fence and say BOTH were perfectly suited to their roles.

LFB. No comparison. The girl in FWWM was not the Donna I knew and loved.

Sadly, Donna's storylines became less compelling after Maddie died, but that wasn't LFBs fault.

Lara Flynn Boyle. Because she IS Donna Hayward. I'd like to know how many people, if any, who saw the television show first, still prefer the (5 and a half minutes of screen time) Donna played by Moira Kelly. Anyone?

I wonder, too, why there seems to be a consensus among the M.K. devotees that L.F.B's acting was bad. I don't get it. I know her character got pretty over the top and, well, let's be honest...insufferable!, but was it her acting that was the problem or the writing? I know she was all breathy, annoying and ridiculous, but surely she was directed that way. No? In any case, she was absolutely brilliant in the pilot. Her performance was flawless and she, along with Lynch, created Donna Hayward.

I don't quite get all the LFB-bashing that goes on either.  I thought her acting was really good and I believed her as Donna.  I agree in the second season, she was hard to watch at times.  That had to do with the writing and lack of a quality storyline for her.  I noticed when people start bashing her, it's because of her looks or her freckles or something that has nothing to do with her acting abilities.  Sure, she hasnt done anything memorable since TP, but that doesnt mean she wasnt an awesome Donna!

But we know from comparing the TP and post-TP LFB talk show interviews that she hated her looks. I know this should not reflect on the way we feel about the character Donna, but it somehow gives the character some kind of authentic teenage insecurity.

Both Donna's desperately wanted to be like Laura. They are interchangeable, as far as I'm concerned, and reflect different parts of the character arc of the best friend of a murdered girl.

Lara of course, just ask Jack N. and eh, what his name again, Kyle? I just checked out: Lara Flynn is aries. How cool is that. And I don´t give a damn about what she has done since Twin Peaks, but I do have to consider that fact now, Donnas  astrological profile, ha ha, I´m just pushing myself to become a nerdish guy when it comes to Twin Peaks. I wonder what sign Laura was? Too tired to check it out, though.

A question: Is anyone picturing Moira Kelly when reading Lauras Secret Diary?

I know it's tongue in cheek, but it's actually really cool.  Just from those screen shots there's a strong tension and connection with Laura and Donna.  great work. 

And love the OMG/Oh no, they didn't section -each picture I just nod, yep -check, check, check...

and superimposing Audrey over Annie... what kind of loser would spend their time trying to reininvent... oh, wait.  nevermind.  carry on.
