I'm planning a trip... |

Hi all, I would like some advice, please. I am thinking of taking a few days to go and stay on my own (possibly with a friend) at the Fall City hotel (the Roadhouse) and seeing the sites. I know the Falls are close by, but can anyone tell me what other points of interest are within taxi distance? I also might rent a car. I am coming from London so I need it to be worth my while. Is there an airport near, or bus services from an airport? I plan to research all this on my own. but it would be nice to have the opinion of some experts. I might possibly go to the Fest, but I doubt it. And I know that you all say it's not worth it but I really want to go to T-Mar....is that nearby? I would like to have my own little Peaks experience, be it alone or with a friend. Any advice you guys can give would be appreciated IMMENSLY! Thanks guys. -Kristen

You could probably see most of the locations by taxi but I'd strongly advise you against it. It'd spoil the ambience. A couple of years ago I met my friend in Seattle and we spent a couple of days driving around Snoqualmie and Fall City. We used directions from this site, which were a huge help. Just click the series/fwwm tab at the top of the page and go to Visiting Twin Peaks. We raided a small wooden tourist information hut in Snoqualmie for maps and leaflets.
I ran from the noise and the silence, from the traffic on the streets

Thanks for the tips! But actually, now that some time has passed, I think I am going to be able to make it to the Fest. I am about 89% at this point! First time for me, so I need some tips. Perhaps I could take this to the Fest board, but I have looked through it and it's not really giving me the info I want. Basically, what I want to know is, where to Festers stay, year after year? I want to know where all you guys go year after year, and the reasons why. I am a bit of a germophobe, but I'm not looking for anything too fancy. I have all my transport covered, and i could really stay anywhere, but I want to stay where the action is (and obviously a clean place, reasonably priced). I see that a lot of you stay at the Edgewick Inn. Is this the official Fest hotel? Where else is good and cheap-ish? Any help would be so appreciated! I'm a total newbie to the Fest and I am really excited...I just want everything to be perfect! Thanks a million, folks.

Whoa!!! Taxis don't even go out there, unless you want to pay the driver as much as it would cost to rent a car. Making a driver do the tour will cost you a small fortune, especially since the area is out of the way and they have no idea where they are outside of Seattle. It's damn near impossible to hail a can from the area back to Sea-Tac, too. (nearly) all the sites are clustered in a close area- not walking distance, but short drives. Here is a film site map.
EDIT: Yes! Just come to the Fest!
