Hi everyone! First off, sometimes when I post a thread here I later learn that a thread about the same topic already exists. I've done a search for this topic but nothing came up. I also looked back a couple of pages to see if I could find anything. But I couldn't find a thread about this. I apologize if I missed it.

Anyway, it's a pretty rare blooper involving Kyle saying the F word. It's news to me anyway:

There are more rare Twin Peaks bloopers from the same YouTube user. Enjoy! :)

Ah, this is from the ultra-rare and super-illegal stolen footage DVD that Eric Thomas was selling on eBay about six years ago. Unfortunately he asked a lot of money for a DVD full of mostly meh footage. There's only a small handful of deleted scenes on it; the rest is just outtakes of them filming scenes from different angles or trying out lines in different mannerisms. There aren't even many bloopers on it. Bummer. But this one? This is one of the fun ones. :)

i really dont know what's wrong with TP fans. there's a shitton of deleted scenes and unreleased music out there, but we don't really share it easily.

What about the released bloopers where Kyle refers to the love of his life as "Carolyn" instead of "Caroline"?

i'd pass along the dvds full of deleted scenes and music i have to anyone who wants to come over, burn them themselves, and bring an alchoholic beverage to share while we wait for the burn to complete.

i think the saddest part is that most of deleted scenes are from season one....you know...GOOD scenes.

Yeah, most fans just want that exclusivity so it creates some popularity and awe directed towards them. It's fucking sad if you ask me. If that's all a person has going for them...yeesh. How very Hollywood.

There are a rare few fans who don't openly share the goods though because the DVD of footage was created from stolen materials, and the threat has been put out there for those peoples' lives to be made miserable if they dare to share it with the rest of the fan base. Best bet is to figure out who does have the DVD and send them private messages or e-mails asking for a copy. Or as Nefud suggested, have a burn party. We're at a point now that as long as someone isn't charging for copies of that DVD, there isn't much further harm to come from the trading of it amongst fans. Because we've seen that as a community we're more than happy to pay for official releases of things even if we already have bootlegs (as evidenced by the popularity of the 2nd season soundtrack), so if this stuff does ever get an official release, the money will flow in accordingly.

I think the singular beef with the footage is just that it was stolen from someone and then sold for a very exorbitant price ($130 a pop) on eBay, which is beyond not right. But that's between the thief and the original owner to sort out. The fans need to be left out of it in terms of the ongoing battle.

who was the sad out-of-touch bastard that thought it was possible to corral information once it's been digitized?

my policy is the same as it always has been: either release it officially, or get the hell out of my way. my favorite example remains buddy holly's works. if they don't want to let me pay for it, then fuck'em. but it also works both ways, i (happily) deleted my mp3s and went to the music shop when they FINALLY put the travelling willburys stuff out again. i look forward to doing the same when they release the rest of classic doctor who, twin peaks deleted scenes and music (not to mention on the air and hotel room), the alternate ending to little shop of horrors, and a depressingly large number of mystery science theater episodes.

i don't think i've referred to anyone specifically this whole thread, though if you're forcing me to form an opinion, good on you and him for getting bloopers and other unreleased material out there :)

It's not the young frankenstein version anyway because the super duper/cooper blooper part sounds normal.
Maybe the Taco version.

The part that I find most amusing is that people don't share it because it's stolen.

Hello!? Isn't ANY unofficial footage stolen at some point? It's essentially a bootleg tape, and isn't that by definition stolen?

I think the distinction in this case is that the stuff was stolen from a specific person instead of a studio. Still though, either way it's stolen, and as bootlegs go, share and share a like! ;)

But also some people would love to share it with the fan base and yet are afraid to because of the repercussions it could have within certain TP circles. So it's not always a case of someone going "Oh it's stolen, so I can't share" or "Oh I don't want to share because I want people to rub my butt". If there were an easier way for those people to be able to get word around that they're more than happy to share the DVD than making a full-on public announcement, then the problem would be easily solved, no?

Ah. Oops.   Sorry bout that. I've been called an elitist snob enough in the last couple of years that I'm super-touchy about it at this point. My bad, Fud.

What actions have you taken recently for someone to brand you an elitist snob?

Two things immediately come to mind...1) being a festival organizer. 2) Being on the Gold box fest documentary. Yeah, because both of these things have made me SOOOOOOOO awesome.
