No doubt all here have at times looked down at a 'hot, black cup o' joe' and thought of Twin Peaks.

Perhaps you've even stopped the waitress once or twice at a resteraunt with a 'you know... this is, excuse me, a damn fine cup of coffee'.

But where does it end?

I don't think I'll ever lose that 'private joke' feeling of getting a REALLY good cup of coffee, smiling, and reminding myself of some episode of Twin Peaks.

Do you share the 'coffee obsession' also?

I'm right there with ya.

I think I like coffee because of Twin Peaks.

All of the characters must really have bad breath from all of the coffee they consume.  I would probably give Audrey a pass on that though.

Add pastry. It's all about the legal buzz. Gives an early morning or late night an edge, you know?

My dad taught me drinking my coffee white. I tried to go black because of my TP obsession but couldn´t stand the bitter taste.

But I bought some REALLY cool coffee cups in Greece that I thought was so the Black Lodge... Mmmmm

I am a collector of any kind of coffee mugs and cups. I used to drink a lot of it when I was in school and in the early times at university. Now I cooled it off a bit because it's not good for my health. As you probably know, here in Italy we have a very different kind of coffee than you have - a stronger one, called espresso - and also different ways to prepare it.So, I think it's interesting also to know our cultural differences in the way we perceive coffee.

I just drink black tea in the morning now. It's strong enough to remind me something of the coffee taste and looks.

We have espresso in the States as well.  It's pretty popular over here.  If you go to a coffee house, the drinks are made with espresso.

Myself, I take it black.  I make myself stop drinking it at lunchtime.  I pretty much wake up and drink it until lunch.  I love coffee.  I love that bitter taste.  My grandparents put a pot on when they get up and drink it straight through until they go to bed.  In fact, gramma can't sleep until she has that last cup of coffee.

I do love a good latte (soy milk of course since I don't do animal milk EVER) but I have had to cut them out of my diet because of the sugar and all the fat and calories.

Makes me want to have a cup o' joe right now...

Hahahahahahahaha.  No, in the states, the only place you'll find coffee makers is in people's houses and hotel rooms and gas stations. Then again, espresso machines can be found in people's houses here, too.

The coffee that is drank in your country is generally made in pots. It's drip coffee, with a lot of water and the machinery is quite different from the really valuable Espresso machines, which are generally to be found only in certain Italian bars. That's the reason really good Espresso coffee has become sort of a luxury thing here. Because these places need you to sit and they call you a waiter, they bring you stuff and when you go away you have spent almost 10 euros for all those services and just a few inches of coffee.

So, in our homes we have many sorts of machines that try to emulate the great Espresso machines, but it's not the same thing because it's a thing about steam pressure that can't really be recreated in a little machine. We generally fix our coffees with Moka machines (I'll put a picture below). The result is not an Espresso, but the coffee beans used are good and the drink is strong however, so that we just drink it at breakfast and perhaps after lunch to digest. Here coffee is not something you can drink all day. Definitely not before going to bed. You would writhe all night.

Never put too much water in the boiler part. That's the secret!

Then we have another kind of coffee maker, which is the Neapolitan (from Naples). You put the coffee in the filter and water in the boiler as in the Moka. But you have to put it upside down when it's come to the boiling point. You leave it like that for about 5 minutes and the boiling water drips to the other container, resulting in a very similar kind of cofee that Americans drink.

People who drink too much coffee could start seeing ghosts or hearing strange voices, UK research has suggested.

This could explaing alot about the happenings in TP.

Is coffee a laxative?

Can you imagine Cooper saying "Harry I really have to defecate" instead of urinate?

The packard saw mill actually churned out massive amounts of toilet paper for all the scatting citizens of Twin Peaks.

Now, everyone knows i'm English. And, for the record, Coffee is great and all. But it always makes me laugh a little when i think of Cooper replacing all his passion for coffee with tea. It would just probably be the gayest thing in the world.

"That is, excuse me, one DAMN fine cup of t.." I can't even type it. And instead of the whole maple syrup/ham collision, he chose marmite and toast. This could be applied to alot though i guess....

"Oooooh, hello! Big Edward's Petrol Station, what can i do for you on this fine day?".

"Yes, she is infact deceased. It would appear that she has been wrapped in some kind of transparent packaging material......"

Thank god it was made in the states.....
