oh wait that's not sexy

It gets sexier if you call it cunnilinguine. And not call it cold.

Lost flashbacks are greater than James Hurley season 2 plotlines

OMG for a moment I thought you were talking about the character Hurley from Lost! I knew there was something wrong.

Okay, guys, the fact that the series Twin Peaks is being compared to in this thread seems to have the perfect requirements and perfect title to justify what's happening... Hasn't this thread lost  it a little bit?

It has lost its way. Mainly down to Booth and Nefud and their weird sense of humour.

Anyway, for anyone interested, and because we were talking about this before the thread went insane, Lost writers Lindelof and Cuse have stated that they will still have flashbacks and flashforwards in Seson 5, but also a new storytelling device. Any ideas what this could be?

Metaphysical storytelling

"Harry, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it, don't wait for it, just let it happen. Could be a new shirt at the men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot, black coffee. Like this."  -Dale Cooper

Pretty much. This thread is full of win because Lost is full of fail. And suck.

So to answer the question, no idea why. Probably some PR hack's wishful thinking that other lemming hacks repeated ad nauseum.

A better question is "Why am I just now reading this thread?"

I display a in Booth's general direction for getting the jump on the "Nefud's posts" reference.

Well, right now I can't figure any other way of story-telling except the already mentioned uses of flashbacks and flashforwards. Then I read on a website what Cuse/Lindeloff stated about this new device. They made an example mentioning episodes like the Jin-Sun centric one in season 4 or also season 3's finale to make people get what they're hinting at. Maybe it's not a new device, they're just gonna write more episodes that way... Where you think you're seeing a flashfoward and it's actually both flashbacks and flashforwards taking place simultaneously and you figure it out only by the end of the episode.

Hmm that doesn't exactly excite me. I like it when they do that at beginning of seasons. Like in Season 3 where it was showing the Others' village and we didn't know it was the Island, or Season 4 when it showed the pineapples but it was actually off the Island. But over a whole episode that could get annoying, and I thought that Jin-Sun episode was actually one of the worst episodes of the show in terms of repeat viewing, because once you know the end, all of the Jin parts are pretty much redundant.

Yeah, well, this series has become a sort of toy. Sooner or later you get a bit bored playing with it, but that doesn't mean you're not gonna pick it again a few years later. It was just a theory of mine however.
