I have The Gold Box, TP Season 1 DVD, TP Season 2 DVD, FWWM DVD, and my old VHS copies of the series from '90-'91 because of the commercials and the teasers are awesome.

(I use the region 0 Pilot as a coaster)

I know my collection isn't much but it gets the job done.  This question arose because I was reading on dugpa.com of people having multiple copies and wanted to know how passionate the fans really are (obsessed, nuts, etc.)

What do you have?

I have the Gold Box Set.  I sold  the second  season after I bought the Gold Box.  I have borrowed FWWM for four years from my cousin.  He doesn't seem to mind he knows I am into it more than him.  His favorite show is the Wire.  I just hadn't gotten around to buying it although I have seen it on sale for like $6 - $10 from time to time.

I have exactly the same as you, sunshine! Except, do you mean you have COPIES of the shows on VHS, because i have the VHS releases of the show, not recordings.

I don't think the number of copies of Twin Peaks and Fire Walk With Me you own has anything to do with how passionate you are about the series. I own a lot of Twin Peaks and Fire Walk With Me DVDs but I was just as passionate when all I had was the VHS tapes of the series and FWWM and I couldn't even afford to buy Wrapped In Plastic!

I never intended for the number of copies to be directly correlated to your love of Twin Peaks.  I was reading a thread on dugpa the other day and someone said they had 9 copies of FWWM (which I thought was crazy/awesome!).  To answer hopesfall, I have VHS copies I recorded off the original broadcasting, sweetheart!

I tend to buy Lynch DVDs as mementos when I travel, which is why I have so many. They're like my equivalent of Dr Jacoby's cocktail umbrellas. I have French DVDs that remind me of going to Paris for The Air Is On Fire; Italian DVDs that remind me of wandering round Rome killing time while my partner was in a meeting; US DVDs that I bought in Seattle when I went to Snoqualmie...

I have the orginal tapings from 90-91...the Gold Box...FWWM on DVD. This summer I sold my seasons one and two DVD sets, plus my VHS box set, along with the VHS European pilot and the VHS of FWWM.  So to sum up, now I own two sets of the series, and one copy of FWWM.

I always wonder if I should get a spare FWWM DVD in case it gets scratched.

I have two copies of FWWM on DVD for just that purpose, because I was watching it so much when it first hit the shelves on DVD that I was afraid I'd ruin it and not be able to get another copy. Yeah, little did I know that I'd eventually be able to find PILES of them in the $5 bin at Wal-Mart. LOL

I have the original VHS box set, the original season 1 VHS box set, the VHS pilot, FWWM on retail VHS and DVD, FWWM on VHS recorded from Pay-Per-View in 1992, FWWM on VHS recorded when it aired on Joe Bob's Drive-In, that horrible Korean DVD of the pilot (is that Korean? I don't remember. I just know it's shite), Season 1 on DVD, Season 2 on DVD, the Gold Box set, and then self-made DVDs burned from my original broadcast VHS recordings (I was afraid the tapes would wear out, so I burned them to DVD a long time ago and chucked the tapes). Everything is US/Region 1 unless otherwise noted.

I don't have all these because I'm obsessive or trying to be a big-shot fan or anything. I just am kind of anal about getting rid of things even if I no longer need them. I think they call it "pack rat-itis". :)

That's my favourite message board comment of all time. It's kind of similar to the point I was trying to make. I don't care about being a big-shot fan, I just happen to have a personality disorder (well, disorders, but in this case it's the need to collect). When I used to watch the Worldvision tapes I could barely concentrate on the episodes because I was too busy looking for signs of deterioration in the picture quality (which was pretty poor to begin with). I think in some ways it's damaged me psychologically because even though I'm far too anal to get scratches and fingerprints on my DVDs I worry the house will burn down, FWWM will be deleted and second hand copies will start selling for thousands of pounds... all in the space of a day. In reality I'd be standing outside the house wrapped in a blanket and clutching my FWWM DVDs...

I own two sets of French, German and British lobby FWWM cards, two US press kits and two Cannes press books because I'm clumsy and I'm worried I'll destroy one of my treasures and not be able to replace it. That's were my mania really gets scary! Fuck the DVDs, they're mere trinkets...
