Hello.

I'm new to Twin Peaks and I would sincerely like to watch the remainder of the series while drinking David Lynch's coffee from one of these cups, similar to those used in the Double R Diner.

I've been to many stores (I'm in Australia), have browsed multiple online kitchenware stores and am currently scrolling through eBay world searching for "cup". I'm sorry to blunder ignorantly into your community and unwittingly ask a potentially stupid question, but do you know if you can you get these cups from somewhere?

Thank You.

Welcome! :)

I have a set just like those--a set of four, in different colors (they are downstairs in the kitchen cupboard, but there's a turquoise, black, brown and orange.  I found them at a little consignment shop, like 5 years ago.  So you could always check those kinds of shops...or Ebay and stuff, of course.  I've not seen cups like those in stores, but they could be out there....

A fan tracked down the exact brand, make, & model of these mugs about six years back and he bought up all that he could find and then resold them online and at the festival in '03. We managed to buy the last few that he had from him two years ago and sold them out pretty quickly.

If anyone with one of the mugs is willing to provide you with the model and manufacturer data stamped into the bottom of the mug, you can probably make a pretty good go at tracking down some for yourself. I do know that those specific mugs from that manufacturer are no longer being made, so the best you can do is either find those exact ones from retro dealers or settle for a decent facsimile from elsewhere.

I just went and dug them out of the cupboard--I am missing one! Oh well.  Anywho--it looks like mine aren't QUITE as tall as the one in your picture, but darn close--the handles are bent slightly different--they are just a hair shorter.  The bottom of them has an HH in a circle...Houston Harvest Gift Products LLC.  So unfortunately, mine aren't the real article, but they so reminded me of the diner cups, that I had to have them. LOL. :)

I was wrong about the colors too...one is dark blue with a yellow inside, one is yellow with a blue inside, and one is green with a blue inside.  I think there is an orange one floating about somewhere...I remember that I bought the four that were there. They are stored right next to my Twin Peaks Sheriff's mug. LOL.

Super! Thanks very much for responding. I'll have to start saving my pocket money to get a Fest. That Sheriff's mug sounds very enjoyable. Maybe I'll try and track down the sauce and ketchup bottles, napkin holders, sugar jars, salt and pepper shakers and menus as well to create my own little Double R nook. I think it's probably good to have a quest

Oh how I'd love to get my hands on one of those!  I saw one on Ebay awhile back and kick myself for not bidding on it.....

Would love to see a picture of this mug! I was thinking it might be a cool thing to reproduce for the festival some year.

I completely suck at taking pictures, but here's my mug! :) I got it in 90-91 as part of my Twin Peaks Gazette newspaper subscription.

And here's a (an albeit very poor photo) of one of my diner-ish mugs.

I know it's probably a crime in several states, but I just can't use the thing! I'm afraid I'm going to break it or something. LOL.

In my Googling search I stumbled upon a posting - http://www.2000revue.com/community/topic.cfm?topicid=3632 - in which the jlyon from February reveals them to be "Chefsware 207 or 208". Thanks Feb jlyon! I've also found an image of that wicked sherrif's dept logo on your cup and am getting the neighbourhood Kodak to stamp it on a mug for me. Why must it be so difficult to track down merchandise from a show that was cancelled 18 years ago? I ask you.

Heheh, thanks jimgrim. I couldn't remember the exact numbers anymore so I didn't post. Apparently even back then I didn't remember the numbers! :)

I think it might be cool to do some replica mugs for the fest this year. I have a huge vector image of the Sheriff Dept logo that I created from multiple screencaps through the series, so I basically have everything I need.

At first I thought that rocksandbottles was saying she had one of those orangish neet shaped mugs with the sheriff Dept logo. Now those are awesome! You can just see the top of the mug I'm talking about beside cooper here:

I always wondered if anyone got ahold of those mug props. Those we be a great find!

That orange mug is so fine it makes me crazy, but in a good way. The image I found doesn't curve up in the same fashion, but I think it's neat for a $9 rush-job. This morning the girl from the Kodak called to say my coffee cup was ready and I should come get it. When she handed it over she asked if the logo was from South Park. So I hit her with soap in a sock. Here's my mug!

Have you ever noticed that sometimes the promotional products say "Sherriff" and other times they say "Sheriff's"? They are completely inconsistent.

Just means someone in the promotions department can't spell and doesn't know where the spell check button is. :)

Sweet sugar in the morning, I'd not noticed that. That must make mine a collectible! And decidedly more valuable - like those stamps with the upside down biplane. I'll bet dollars to donuts the site I got the image from is based somewhere in the Far East and has little to do with Propaganda Films. Still, somehow, the freshly ground Kenyan I had in my cup this morning was as perky as a poodle in a parade.

For those tragics like myself (anyone?) the design of the Double R design mugs dates back at least to the 40s, with this for sale on eBay at the moment.
