If you had to pick only one image from Twin Peaks that you think is the most important picture, has the most meaning behind it or what you just happen to like the most, what would it be?

My choice would be the image of Leland screaming at the center of the twelve sycamore trees. Lately when I've been watching FWWM I've rewinded to see that scene over and over again. It's both haunting and ectremely sad at the same time. I think this small and quick scene is one of the most powerful scenes in movie history. I can feel the sadness and agony so well that even watching just the still image of it puts me in awe. This very moment gives us a brief look at the deepest core of the human soul where both innocence and evil lies. This moment gives us such a look at the character of Leland that no other scene does.

That's it. I'm off to buy a bunch of donuts and a fresh ground bag of strong coffee.

"Harry, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it, don't wait for it, just let it happen. Could be a new shirt at the men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot, black coffee. Like this."  -Dale Cooper

So many of the iconic images in TP are used so widely and strewn so far and wide on the web that they've exhausted their original impact, but this image always haunts me, especially when i re-watch the pilot and the Principal's voice is echoing over it as it pans down the corridor....

You've gotta ask what they were thinking when they did this. It's just so unnecessary and unlike TP. It really does signify the lowest point of TP.

The writers apparently went through a brief (Thank God) period of slapstick that wasn't funny.

This would qualify as cartoonish, not slapstick. THAT would be Andy getting slapped in the face with a loose porch plank, literal slapstick!!!

Personally I'm completely obsessed with anything to do with the Black Lodge/Red Room, but apart from that, I find the ceiling fan image very compelling...

This is the best picture I could find, not exactly what I mean, but I'm sure you'll all get it...

I just love how, in the Twin Peaks world, something as bland and everyday as a flight of stairs and a ceiling fan can be made to feel so unsettling and intriguing!

Also, it is comfortingly familiar as it occurs after all the strangeness at the beginning of FWWM. And then suddenly we are back to a place we know and love. The picture is much more vibrant and warm than in the series though. It has this orangey glow.

I cant find a screencap, but the image where bob is presenting the floating leland to mike at the end of fwwm. the look of contempt of bob's face, the weird way leland is floating, and the way the scene is such a crux of the whole plot. lot to mention how well it's shot.
