Mine does. It does in many ways. Like I have kind of hidden meanings in my writings and some of the symbols are from religion. On the other hand when I am writing something if it goes too far in a direction I don't like or if it does not feel right. I will stop and destroy it. This happened last week and I only had like 20 more pages to go and I would have been done with the story. I kind of know what kind of vibe I should be on now and I learned a lot from the process.

What is it that your story is about, if you don't mind me asking? Answering your question, i personally don't consider myself an artist in any way. I form a story in my head, and then have no talent whatsoever in articulating those thoughts into words. I am very passionate about writing poetry though; for some reason that seems to flow more coherently, and definitely comes to me more naturally than my futile attempts to put together some kind of narrative structure. But anyway, religiously, i don't really align myself with any of the main religions. I'd say my own beliefs are closest to buddhism, but without the disciplines. I know, through meditations, and personal experience and insight, that all things seemingly divergent are all underneath connected. We're all one inconceivable consciousness that is experiencing itself. It can't be thought about, because then you are the experience, not the experiencer. It can only be felt; experienced. Anyway, that's another thread entirely. Alot of my poetry reflects these beliefs, yes. But whether it's "good" or not.....i don't know. Haha!
Same goes for drawings. I would love to be able to draw, and again, i have something in my head but nine times out of ten it would end up becoming something disgusting like a huge penis or a pair of tits, and then end up on one of my colleagues' backs at work and if nothing else brighten my day up a bit. Boys will be boys. I'm only 25!

It was a slasher film, LOL. It was a good one. But I knew it would come to this. Part of the reason is because I was writing it for the money. Despite what people say the slasher film is the most popular genre to break in. I was aiming for production companies and I know if it sold I would have made anywhere around 10,000 - 60,000 for this script which is fine for me. But looking at it, do I really what to start out whoring myself? And looking at my many story ideas this one just didn't fit in with what I would like to do long term. What my long term goals are. The Christian symbols in my writing is kind of like Lord Of The Rings. In other words you don't have to be a Christain to enjoy the story. I have another idea for a slasher film, but it is different, although I don't think many production companies would want to make it because it kind of turns the slasher film upside down.
I don't really fit into any of the mainstream religions either. I believe in Jesus, but I don't like many of the things taught in the churches.

Me also. He had some very good things to say. Many of his parabels are actually very close to the essence of what Buddha also taught, the same goes for the ancient philosophical texts of the Upanishads, which are Hindu i believe. I think that all religions once pointed to the same source (god, brahman, dharma, tao, zen), but they have all been manipulated beyond recognition over the ages, and turned pretty much against each other.
If you read what Jesus says in the bible carefully, you can see this. The god he speaks of is not a giant man with a white beard, it is everything that is. You've got me interested in your "slasher flick" now. How do you mean it turns the slasher genre on it's head? You mean it has a certain twist? Or you incorporate other elements into your work? Either way, you've got me sold. I'm also interested in where your religious symbols fit in.

The slasher film that I was writing does not turn it on edge. It is a good slasher film though. I have some religious symbols in it. It was making fun of religion and some of the ideas of religion. I don't make fun of God but religion because I think religion needs to be made fun of at times. But other than that it works like a usual slasher film from the 1980's. The slasher film to turn the slasher film on edge is an idea I have that I have not written yet. I think what would turn producers off is that I am mixing the slasher, the journey and the love story together. Which means the plot will move very slow although it pays off big in the end. That is the opposite of most slasher films. Most slasher films are slow at first, but once they take off it is a non stop race. I also do some weird things like Lynch does in his films. I don't switch people, but I do bring dead people back like they never really died.

im with you guys in the jesus boat. what i see wrong with religion is peoples interpretation. once i read the dead sea scrolls, bhagvad gita, tao te ching, old testament, apocrapha, new testament, and book of mormon in order it made alot more sense than all that hypochristian propoganda thats been dished out all this while. i think it was dante who said "the hottest places in hell are reserved for those who reserve judgement" im assuming that was about lawyers. id reserve those places for the televandalists though. the likes of earnest angely and the 700 club are the worst in my opinion. back on topic, yes, while i dont subscribe to any certain religion i surely call myself spiritual. my personality is definetly manifest in my art.

Absolutley, Part of being an artist is taking in everything and filtering it into your creation. It makes sense for your beliefs and experiences to influence you
