It took two episodes of Californication for me to realize Madchen Amick was playing the ex-lover of a rock star Duchovny's character is writing a biography of.  She's the first woman Duchovny's character actual chooses not to have sex with.  The blonde hair and maturing of her face threw me off but finally I had that "wait a minute" moment.  She's in five episodes and I thought she pulled it off well...a good gig for her.
