I've been watching old episodes of The Larry Sanders Show recently, and three nights in a row I saw TP actors. The first was Ian Buchanan as a substitute producer standing in for Rip Torn's character, Artie. The next night it was Ray Wise playing Larry's lawyer (!), and the night after that it was Warren Frost playing Larry's cranky father. I guess these probably ran in 1992-93. Oh, and of course Duchovny was on TLSS several times, (he and Garry Shandling being basketball buddies.) Shandling really dipped into the TP's pot! The week before I was watching a John Schlesinger movie from the 70's, Yanks, and there was Everett McGill as a racist southerner beating up a black soldier for dancing with a white woman in England during WWII. Rewatching Ep. 15, the entrance of Clarence Williams III as FBI agent Roger Hardy reminded me of him and Peggy Lipton in the Mod Squad on TV in the late 60's/early 70's...how funny it would have been had Lynch cast Michael Cole somewhere as well. But he did cast Michael Parks, who starred in Then Came Bronson back in 1969-70. Parks and his Harley Davidson made my teenage heart flutter!

kyle mclachlan as claudius in hamlet (interesting sidenote: sam shepard played ethan hawke's dead father in both hamlet and snow falling on cedars). sheryl lee in vampires and mother night. ray wise in the journey of natty gann. russ tamblyn in a few episodes of joan of arcadia. david patrick kelly in the crow. and who could forget robyn lively in teen witch and the karate kid III. i could have sworn john boylan played the old homeless guy in groundhog day, but imdb says no. and if the internet says it it must be true. madchen amick in dream lover. david duchovny had a hilarious part in the final episode of the larry sanders show. oh, and he was in kalifornia. of course these aren't all my favorites, just ones that stick out in my mind. if i cold only have one favorite it would be kalifornia. if i could have two more they would be hamlet and of mice and men (sherilynn fenn). oh, and pretty much anything with michael parks. especially the kill bills. dammit, this is hard.

Absolutely!! One that still manages to crack me up is Wendy Robie and Everett McGill in The People Under the Stairs. I have a hard time watching it not seeing them as Ed and Nadine...:P Sheryl Lee was in a pretty good episode the Red Shoe Diaries with David Duchovny... Micheal Ontkean in Slap Shot Kyle MacLachlan and Kenneth Welsh in Thunder Point Kimmy Robertson in Don't Tell Mom The Babysitter's Dead | I don't recall Kimmy being in it. It was one of my favorites when I was a kid. Actually, I could re-watch it right now. If you compare it with nowadays comedies, it has more quality and style. As for the thread, I would go with Paris, Texas with Harry Dean Stanton as the best one, but also Bliss with Sheryl Lee goes through one of my favorite peaks actor's projects. Also Carrie with Sissy Spacek (well, Sissy wasn't in Twin Peaks but Lynch recovered casting her as wonderful Rose in The Straight Story) and Piper Laurie. Well, and of course, West side story, with Richard Beymer and Russ Tamblyn.

Frances Bay (Mrs Tremond) in In The Mouth of Madness as the husband-manacling, Lovecraft monster. And as Aunt Barbara in Blue Velvet, of course.

Well thank you for dropping that one on me! I had no idea, and I own a DVD of WestSideStory. I'll have to watch it as soon as possible. Zipped over to IMDb and sure enough, there's a great picture of Tamblyn and Beymer and Natalie Wood on a park bench. What a trip!

You need to watch it. It's a must, especially if you like particular musicals. And both Russ and Richard are really good (and young).
