I'm hearing l'ennui en un bon moment.  That would come out to boredom in a good moment, and would mean something like boredom at just the right moment.

The difference between la nuit and l'ennui is subtle, but I feel that la would be more emphasized and less schwa-ed as the first word of the sentence.

Keep in mind I'm neither a native nor a fluent speaker of French.

I'm still waiting for my friend who lived in France almost all her life to check it out but this is all great! Keep them coming!

I'm a french speaking Belgian (Brussels) and what I hear is :

"La nuit est le bon moment"

That would be : "Night time is the right time"

I'm not convinced, only because it seems like a nonsequitur given the contex, whereas the alternate suggestion we came up with is so clearly supported by the lady's performance. 

Is it possible we're supposed to hear the one, but it was deliberately made almost inaudible to tease us?  To get us to dig up another veiled song title in the Hap's scene, the other one, of course, being "Goonight Irene?"

I am from Switzerland and I must admit that the initial word of the sentence is not clear enough to be sure of the word. Anyway, here is what I hear :

 *not clear* est un bon moment.  *not clear* could be "la nuit" or "l'ennui" or "Henry"

 la nuit = night

 l'ennui=boredom

 Henry

She might even says : Henry, les bons moments...

 She suggest to the guy to think about something better than the murdered girl.

The only thing I am really sure is the girl that is not french nor from a french-spoken country. She had to learn her quote or she was told to say this.

It's probably a stretch, but, "Night Time is the Right Time" is an old 1930s song. And who do we know of in the Twin Peaks universe that just _loves_ his old-timey music?

If the French Lady and the old man ever saw Teresa in Leland's company and heard him sing-- this song, perhaps-- it could be a tacit reference to him.

Okay, here's the thing. In the original audio track you can't hear very well what French girl is saying.

In our Italian dubbed version it was changed and stressed with a fake French accent to "Amour, la nuit n'est pas fini!" which means "The night is not over yet, my love"

In the German dubbed version it could have been translated more correctly as the voice actress dubbed her: "La nuit elle est un bon moment", which is strangely a line recalling what Laura will say later to Donna when they are on the couch looking up: "Night time is my time"
