Why do you think there is such a connection among fans? It seems like family. I have never been to the Twin Peaks Festival, but I feel so connected to everyone here, like all of you are relatives I have never met.

I feel the same way, haven't met anyone on here yet and haven't been to the Fest . I think it is because the Peak fanbase is smaller these days, but are really loyal and still obsessed and I think it helps that the show and film didn't give absolute closure so the mysteries go on and on in our minds.

The feeling of family will only intensify by going to the fest, when you get to meet the people in person. :) I didn't think it possible to feel any closer to the people here, but it really was amazing. You know the closeness you feel when talking to people here online--if you can manage it, get thee to a fest and experience the brilliance of doing that in person. Thank you so much Gazette runners--without you Twin Peaks wouldn't be as alive as it still is to this day. And there is something phenomonably special about this show that just pulls people together. You either love it or you don't. And when you're with people who love it, it seems to automatically bond you as family. There's just that -- click. The spark. The love. I am treading head-first into quite the ramble now...will shut up. ;)

I met a teacher at school for the first time who was helping with my personal statement, and I'd mentioned Lynch in there so we got to talking about Twin Peaks, and we talked about it for ages. I reckon the connection was greater for me, as I was an infant while Twin Peaks was airing, so I'd never actually met a real fan The only other people that I've talked about it with are of my parent's generation, who vaguely remember a Little Dancing Man, BOB and that it became shit towards the end

Yeah, I have been on other messages boards, but there is something special about this one. Maybe it is because I have been posting on here for so long or maybe it is the diverse group of people on here, LOL.

It is a great board, very special. I've just come from Portmeirion the home of the Prisoner. Another remarkable place. Are any other Brits on here?

The thing I can't figure out is why I love Twin Peaks so much more than anything else.

QUOTE: I never watch other TV shows over and over and over and try to notice new things down to the most minute detail.
| This seems to be common, and probably the number one reason people keep seeing strange Twin Peaks references all over the place. Like the Catholics and their Virgin Mary toast.

I'm sitting here in the Great Northern right now. For the 15th consecutive year! Talked to Jared tonight. He and Amanda were driving into Seattle. Saw (Hyde) at the Moose Lodge. Wonder if Angel is there? Chris and Chris? Brian "B"? Thought I saw PyschoAU earlier up on North Bend Blvd. Josh and Adam are over at the Moose Lodge now. The festival is an annual family reunion and the feeling extends to members of the family who have not yet made the journey. Your cousins are waiting and you will feel at home at once.
I'm relaxed and serene listening to the sound of the waterfall. Passed the "Elk Crossing" sign but they were not out tonight. Maybe tomorrow. Things do change here but slowly and there's always enough that's familiar to bring back that original feeling we all know so well. The only similar feeling I can think of right now, one Pinot Grigio later, is that of listening to Van Morrison's Astral Weeks. I start out lucid and hearing the melody, the lyrics, the poetry. Soon I am lost in the magic and the mystery. Try as I might, each time I listen and tell myself that this time I will try to sort it all out intellectually, I will always succumb to the transcendance of the art. Susan

| If Hawk had said "My people call it the dweller on the threshold, you may have heard of it, we got it from a Van Morison song", that part of the show would have been less clumsy.

Booth, you are a poster both wonderful and strange. I always look forward to you and Mr. One Suave Folk's posts.
