I just rewatched this episode and am stunned at just how terrible it is. I've expressed before that I don't particularly like Michael Ontkean's acting but I accepted that he was the straight guy, but in this episode I thanked God he is normally the straight guy as he was awful. His misery after Josie's death, was him slurring his words, crying and laughing every now and again and then shouting as louds as he could random lines. Windom Earle's ridiculous disguises did nothing to help and then the penultimate scene, with the Pine Weasle Horne project was just downright boring, before descending into a very un-TP farce. Also, Billy Zane and Sherilyn Fenn's scenes were lacking chemistry. The only scenes I liked were Coop and Annie meeting and Ed trying to tell Nadine about getting divorced with Jacoby, where the scene ends with Nadine saying "I've gone blind in my left eye!".

Everyone is bugged by something in the show.  I still say the worst moments of TP, whatever you think they may be, are better than the best of anything you can find on TV today.  (Yes, Little Nicky and Evelyn Marsh are superior to Lost.)

It's pretty bad, I agree. I love episode 23, and if I'd mailed donuts to ABC during the hiatus I'd have felt cheated. The weasel-cam is just terrible. The next episode is a great one, though.

Yeah, I wish more good stuff was on TV.  I got an email the other day and NBC wanted me to fill it out.  It was about shows I watch, etc....  And the answer to almost every question was never.

NBC has two of the few non-HBO shows worth watching (30 Rock and The Office), and yes they are both better than Little Nicky and Evelyn. But since they are both comedies its like comparing apples to rotten oranges.

I watched the Office last week and I liked it :)  I don't have any of the pay cable channels.  Since I usually rent DVDS or go to the movies, I have like below basic cable, LOL.

There is lots of good shows on at the moment, or at least in the last few years: Lost, Carnivale, My Name Is Earl, Curb your Enthusiasm, Black Books, Family Guy, Malcolm in the Middle, Futurama, Spaced etc. I could go on. And all of them are MUCH better than Little Nicky and Evelyn.

i like the whole thing with windom earl visiting the Harwards as gerald craig. Thats a creepy scene, when they call the number he gave Donna and its to a cemetery. A lot more creepier scene than any scene with BOB. And i like how the scene with the pine weesel on-the-run ends - with that hysteric lady in the blue dress screaming like the world is coming to an end......

The scenes with audrey and john Justice wheeler is just annoying and irritating......just as annoying as the name John justice wheeler....

This is a sentence and you are reading it now.

Oooh, I forgot about that scene. Windom Earle's best scene, in my opinion.

You see......I will defend these "weaker" moments during the second season, because even those episodes have good material, and are far better than most of the crap to come on TV in the last 30 years.

I personally enjoyed Micheals acting, and I believed the pain he was in.

Sure, it was hard to follow the previous episode....but it was still a good job, and it links perfectly to the NEXT episode.

All the other things people complain about....I still think are pretty good.

Sure, they aren't TERRIFIC like the first season, and the first half of the second....but it still makes for some great TV.

Oh yeah....am I the only one who LOVES the weasle cam/riot?  I thought that was HILARIOUS!

Not at all. Props to the weasle cam.

Not to mention the girl standing there at the edge of the stage during the riot screaming right into the microphone! Priceless.

I liked the bit where Cooper hugged Harry towards the end and  I thought Andy was quite funny in the fashion show with the way he stood staring at the audience. But the 'weasel' scene and the ending where Eckhart's assistant goes up to Harry are bad. The Billy Zane picknick scene where he sings is cheesy but my least favourite part is when Harry says the law doesn't breath... YA CANT KILL IT and how he says "never got to china" doesn't make me feel sorry for him. But I still think Michael OntKean is great in the rest of the series.

Now that I've just finished my second run of the episodes, I would change my stance on Harry. I think Ontkean does give him a quiet dignity, that lets Cooper take the limelight but the audience still admires Harry. However, I will never retract my opinion that his acting as drunk Harry is awful. After Josie just died, we should be feeling realy sympathy for Harry, but because of his completely immature and out-of-character acting I just wanted Cooper to leave him, like you would for an attention-seeking crying baby.
