I didn't think I did.  I thought I checked it, but I guess not.  I got the Twin Peaks box set for Christmas and I have been watching Season Two for about 3 weeks now and the other night I found out, that I got one of the box sets with the bad DVD in it.

I haven't even bothered to check and see if my disc is bad. I guess I probably should, though I don't know that it's anything I'm going to chase Amazon down for at this point. I hope they took all the returned sets they ended up with and shoved them very very far up CBS/Paramount's arse.

LOL, I got my box set as a gift, so I am not sure if he ordered it from Amazon or not.  My cousin got it for me.  I got him a box set for Christmas too, not Twin Peaks though.

Oh, come now. No box is truly "bad". I'm sure you could use your powers of persuasion to make it "good". Or just hold onto it as is. It'll likely become a collector's item...

I have already been watching it, so that brings the value down.  It is now big deal though.  I just wish it wasn't that DVD that was the one that was messed up.  It is one of my favorite episodes.  The episode works fine, I just don't get the log lady intro and have to play around with the menu.  I did get a Laura Card though, and it is one of my favorite pictures of her.

My gold box didn't come with any cards at all.  Damn you Amazon!!!  The seller said it was new and it was sealed.  I feel a grumpy email coming on.  Trickery!

Amazon sent me no less than three faulty sets. I finally managed to find one that works perfectly on all of my DVD players so it was clearly just a faulty batch Amazon were peddling. When that happens in the UK the manufacturer usually takes responsibility for replacing faulty discs. I feel sorry for the people who put the Gold Box together because they clearly worked hard and the documentaries are fantastic but after al the controversy over special features, the hideous gold packaging and faulty discs the Gold Box has acquired an air of infamy. I know peoples expectations were (too) high but I for one would have settled for working menus.

Fortunately they have a golden (see what I did there?) opportunity to redeem themselves with a lavish Fire Walk With Me special edition including deleted scenes (that's non negotiable) and a substantial documentary. And just for the record (on the off chance somebody who has a say in the matter strays onto the board) I'd prefer understated packaging - not gold, not silver, and certainly not packaged with collectible postcards that are going to wreak havoc with my obsessive compulsive disorder.

This seems like an incredibly presumptuous and thankless attitude. Haha, you really screwed up by releasing the whole show on one inexpensive DVD set, good thing you can make up for it by handing over a great FWWM set with deleted scenes (which I'm sure that many would immediately start to criticize, no matter how great the quality of the set). Meanwhile four never before seen deleted scenes from the series have been released on the Gold Box set, which I have yet to see anyone even mention. Does anyone remember where we were only a year and a half ago? Season One was getting harder and harder to find, and we had no real confirmation of a Season 2 set coming out anytime soon. Then, before you know it, Season 2 is released, and finally the Gold Box set arrived, at a very reasonable price. Twin Peaks was that close to being lost to everyone but huge fans who owned the VHS's and the old DVD set, and now it's sure to be seen and commented on by generations of viewers. Yet you claim it's a failure, why? 1. Because of a mildly annoying fault in one of the discs, which is sure to be worked out soon (at least that's the impression I've got from my disc, and others descriptions of discs). 2. Because the cover art isn't subtle enough?! WTF? I thought the packaging was little weird at first, but I wasn't complaining, and I really like it now, it's very eye catching. 3. Because they included free cards with the first batch of discs... I've also seen people complain because they cut a single, completely incidental and unnecessary, dubbed in piece of dialog from episode 28. Gee they really screwed that one up didn't they? I can still hardly believe such a great set has been released for this 18 year old series, but all people seem to do is complain about it...

That god damn trailer's more popular than Uncle's Day in a whorehouse!

It does not matter to me about the package and stuff.  But I think that all the DVDS should work correctly no matter what kind of box set it is.  It is like buying a CD and finding out that your favorite song is scratched.
