In what way? Personally I think The Night of the Hunter by Charles Laughton is somewhat similar to Fire Walk with Me, but that's more a similarity in scope and feeling than any actual likeness.

The scene at the end of the final episode where Agent Cooper is running from his doppleganger and then tackled by him is taken from the end of a Mario Bava film called Kill Baby Kill (1968)

Have you seen INSOMNIA with Pacino and Hilary Swank? That's one of the best films I've seen that has a Twin Peaks quality to it. It has a very similar setting. Unnatural forces? INSOMNIA doesn't feature any surrealism or stuff like that, however you interpret them, maybe as supernatural or elements of paranoia, etc. But the main character's trouble with sleeping is portrayed in a good way. I wonder if there were any mentions of Twin Peaks around the making of INSOMNIA (I know its a remake) by the director etc?

I wasn't too keen on Insomnia. It's definitely the worst Chris Nolan film I've seen.

The first dream segment of Dreams that money can buy is pretty reminiscent, though not in the way you want.

I love Insomnia... never thought of it in comparison to Twin Peaks though. I guess there are some similarities...

i don't really know if this is true, but as I recall the series American Gothic was compared with Twin Peaks in swedish newspapers at the time...several years ago, don't remember for how long. I think i saw one episode or something, and I think I liked it. Don't know why I didn't keep watching it though...perhaps somebodyelse could tell if it is a similarity or not!

I always thought The Blair Witch Project had a similar atmosphere.

Just to clarify - have you actually seen Twin Peaks? Dead girl, FBI agent, woman carrying a log?
I ran from the noise and the silence, from the traffic on the streets

Chill out, there's definitely the whole "evil in the woods" theme in Blair Witch, which is a huge aspect of Twin Peaks, a kind of similar creepy atmosphere too... try to think about what people mean by things like this instead of just saying they're wrong.

I think i've written about this in another thread but Poltergeist 3 has some similarities to TP....Not much, but the similarities is that it is evil doppelgangers in it...evil spirits who takes possesions of souls and Lara Flynn Boyle is playing in it...and she is playing a character who is named Donna.... And thats kinda strange....maybe David Lynch discovered Lara Flynn Boyle in this movie and decided to have her in TP, and he didn't even bother to give her character a new name?
This is a sentence and you are reading it now.
