Why has the wig thread risen from the dead?! This is getting ridiculous... Anyway, I've got to say that rewatching the later episodes of the series, I'm actually finding them quite enjoyable in a guilty pleasure kind of way... they're not nearly as bad as I remembered. I actually just rewatched episode 21, and thought it was pretty inspired. Sure there's an unnecessary amount of Evelyn, some really random, silly moments, and Cooper has nothing to do but play chess, but there are many moments that feel just like season 1: Leo attacking Shelley, Ed and Norma getting back together, any scene involving Catherine and/or Josie. Also a great monologue about Windom Earle from Cooper. I remembered these episodes not even feeling like the same show, but though it did become far less riveting, the balance of humor, unsettling mystery, and soap opera twists still remains to some degree. Maybe it's that I know what to expect now, so I don't find the silly, limp, and just plain corny scenes insulting anymore... just a part of the show. There's always enough to keep me interested, to move me, to make me laugh in even the weakest episodes of the show (19, anyone?), to ensure that I will be watching it again and again.
That god damn trailer's more popular than Uncle's Day in a whorehouse!
