hello everyone.

I have a question, as you might have guessed, regarding the soundtrack for the pilot episode. Since im new in this forum it might already be answered so pardon me if thats the case.

Whats the title of the track bobby briggs palys at the double r diner at the start of the pilot episode - if i remember the scene right he dedicates the song to norma and then drives away with shelly. im not sure but i think the same song is played first time james visits wallies? i would appreciate the title and artist very much:)

i hope you can help
aleksander

The song is called "I'm Hurt Bad" and it's from Angelo Badalamenti. It's available on the Season 2 soundtrack released last October (track 8, to be precise).

Yeah, that's "I'm Hurt Bad". The version included on the Season 2 soundtrack is a bit different because it's the version that was played at Wallie's. But it's the only place you're going to find a clean copy of the song. The only other place you can get the music is from a DVD-to-MP3 rip of the song as it was performed in Lynch's Industrial Symphony No. 1, which is really poor quality.

Yes, it is the same song. I'm listening to it right now, just to confirm. The first 35 seconds of the song are what you hear in the pilot, then it moves on to the rest of the music for that specific scene in Wallie's. It's not the whole version of "I'm Hurt Bad" that was played in Industrial Symphony No 1 but then again, we never hear the full version in the pilot anyway. We just hear that opening bit and a little past it as Bobby and Shelly sit in the car and chat for a moment before leaving the diner.

If you want the whole version (which clocks in at only like 1:15), the only place you can get it is someone's bootleg rip of it from Industrial Symphony No 1. Still called "I'm Hurt Bad".

No problem!

I wish we had like a full complete clean version of that song. I really enjoy it and I know a lot of fans do. Maybe Angelo will one day treat us to the whole deal. :)

What you hear on the amazon sampler is the second part of the song, which is a mood cue in the same key. It works, I guess.  It's deceiving.
