The scene when Betty is going down the escalator with Irene at LAX...is that on the soundtrack? What is this score called?

I don't exactly remember what was going on then - I'll put up the scene and see if I can recall where it came from.

Thank you! I'd love to hear that whole song...it's also near the end of the film.

The sample from Amazon is very brief.  It is possible that Rebel's suggestion is correct and that the sample you heard simply didn't contain the portion of the song for that particular scene.

Honestly, I am disinclined to do this search for you since MD does not have chapter stops and I don't want to have to FF through half the movie just to see what you're talking about and then (more than likely) just come back and say "yes, Rebel was right all along."

It's in the first 30 minutes of the movie, not halfway through.

Perhaps someone could make a yousendit file? This is insane that no one has confirmed what it is.

 Again, WHERE are the fanatics?

Chill out, most likely the people giving you answers are correct... why don't you just get the soundtrack if you want the music so badly?

That god damn trailer's more popular than Uncle's Day in a whorehouse!

Uhh I'm perfectly chill..It's not on the soundtrack as far as I know....just seems funny with the amount of members here that no one knows for sure.

What's your problem? Buy the fucking soundtrack and stop asking questions and acting like an ingrate at the (correct btw) answers.

No need for the hostility. Isnt this a forum in which to ask questions relevant to David Lynch and his projects? Thus far there has been no confirmation so that's why I'm asking. Acting rude and calling people names must make you feel like a big person though. Both answers cant be correct btw. So which is it if you know? Please refrain from projecting your conscious self-conscious neglect on me while doing so though, please.

This forum isn't designed to tell new members how to get songs for free. Of course, most of the kind members would try and tell you what you're looking for but you could show some appreciation of their efforts instead of telling them they're wrong. You are also showing no contribution to the board apart from asking repetitive questions and demanding answers, then accusing them of having not sufficient knowledge of the film.

Keep in mind that amazon samples are only sound bytes, as I just said on another thread, and musical cues are buried in longer songs.  Rebel said it was "Mr Roque/Betty's Theme."  (She is, incidentally, a fanatic if I've ever known one.)  What's on amazon is Mr Roque, and Betty's Theme contains the LAX escalator portion, and more Betty cues.  The two tracks containing "Love Theme" also have those same synth chords.

The piece of music you're referring to is called Betty's Theme. It's on the soundtrack as part of a medley called Mr Roque/Betty's Theme. After a minute of Mr Roque an alarm goes off and Betty's Theme kicks in and lasts for just under two minutes before the music changes again. There's not much to it besides what you hear in the film.

So to summarise, go to iTunes, search for the Mulholland Drive soundtrack, download track five (Mr Roque/Betty's Theme) and bingo bango you're in business.

Anybody else afflicted with a secret agony they need help with?

Yes I am. The funky number from the dinner party that is not on the soundtrack. It kicks in at the part when Camilla says "Yo nunca fuí a Casablanca con Luigi".

What is it called and where might one get a hold of it?

I love the soundtrack cd, but it killed me that that wasn't on it.

Yeah it would mix well with the music from Andy's party in LH. I love that jazzy funky minimal stuff. Tres cool.

Have you tried pestering John Neff for information? There's no mention of it in the credits which makes me think it comes under the heading additional incidental music, in which case it's probably safe to say it's not available anywhere.

I haven't face. He doesn't seem to be around on a regular basis, perhaps for such occasions we could devise a 'Neff Signal' or something that might draw him to such threads. Or maybe a PM would do.

You could also try emailing him at info@johnneff.com.

I spent years yearning for the piano version of Laura Palmer's Theme from Fire Walk With Me and never expected it to be released. When I heard Angelo Badalamenti had posted it on his MySpace page and that More Music From Twin Peaks was coming out I was deranged with excitement and whaddya know they left it off!

I remember Neff saying that piece at the dinner party was called "Thought gang" or was going to be in a new project by him and David called like that. It never was released, but if you own the DVD you can always record it for you pleasure and mute the dialogues. Thats what I did.
