Besides the obvious stuff, what is the origin of most of the music on the IE soundtrack? Seems to be mostly by Polish composers..I just wondered if anyone had any insight into where the music is from, and what could have casued Lynch to use it in his movie?

The 1971 Cello Concerto by Penderecki was used in The Exorcist and The Shining, too. I'm not certain, but Paul Thomas Anderson had said he was going to use Penderecki in his next film, which is There Will Be Blood. The Polish National Symphony Radio Orchestra also scored Children of Men and City of Angels.
http://www.downtownexpress.com/de_180/davidlynch.html talks about the collab w/ Mark Zebrowski. Schaeffer and Kroke are also contemporary. I think in the special features Lynch talks about how much access he had to creative people while shooting in Poland.
