Thanks for the spoiler alert. (no sarcasm intended btw)

 I found this page: http://www.jeffbeal.com/Pages/FILMS%20Pages/Carnivale.html#

where you can listen to the non-released Season 2 soundtrack but I'm trying not to read the track names in case of spoilers

This is probably blasphemous, considering where we are, but I actually preferred Carnivale; it enjoyed the benefit of its creator babying the series from the Pilot to the Finale, with a concrete, written-down mythology to use as the show's framework*. To further blasphemy and possibly warrant excommunication from these boards, I think that David Lynch can take a few lessons from Daniel Knauf when it comes to laying out a story. Should the day come when God smiles on us and TP is revived somehow, if Knauf were somehow on board, I think I might just crap my pants.

To be fair, though, Carnivale allowed me to enjoy Twin Peaks all that much more. Had I not seen Carnivale first, I don't think I would've been prepared for, nor had the patience to sit through, Twin Peaks. But I did see Carnivale first, and doing so allowed TP to become one of my favorites of all time. If it weren't such a beloved show for me, of course, I wouldn't be here.

*And Clea Duvall, whom I find slightly more attractive than any of the "Peaks" girls.

With Carnivale and other shows, like Lost, you can be very comfortable that the writers know where each storyline is headed. With TP, Lynch and Frost can create fantastic experiences which are really moving in places or funny etc. but I'm never confident that they know exactly what they're doing. Thinking about it, TP is almost unique in that it has so many flaws (that its fans acknowledge) yet is amazing television.

But MisterGrey, there is no way that Clea Duvall is more attractive than Sherilyn Fenn, Madchen Amick or Sheryl Lee or Lara Flynn Boyle. Of course it's all subjective and there is something strange about Duvall, that makes her really desirable despite her being not that conventionally physically attractive, imo anyway.

I just finished watching the first season of Carnivale. I really enjoyed it but I'm a little disappointed that no real anwers were given in the finale. I'm just about to buy Season 2.

glad you guys are on board with Carnivale, I truly know that I am among people who have their heads on straight.  And Gio, I think you will like season 2 more than season 1....season 2 is non stop.

Also, about Clea Duval...like you guys, I can't put my finger on what makes her so damn sexy.  But there is no way she is sexier than Mrs. Fenn.

**************** MASSIVE SPOILERS********************

**************** MASSIVE SPOILERS********************

I just watched the final episode. I am tempted to take back what I said about the writers knowing wwhat they were doing. Or maybe it was just HBO's horrible cancellation, but in 2 seasons of fantastic writing and acting we got no answers! None. Who the hell was Scudder in the end? Who is the man with the tree tatoos who is not Justin? What was going on with Management, who was apparently Justin's father. Are we meant to know all of this, am I just being stupid. I'm so frustrated it was all leading up to this and all we got was a lame fight and a non-ending.  If anyone can help me out I'd be grateful.
