SOme people have thought that once Laura is dead, she is trapped in the black lodge...but I feel that the final scene in the movie shows a happier moment than that.  I don't think Laura is stuck in the black lodge at all.

I believe once you are in the black lodge, anyone can meet you there from anytime that they enter.....since there is no time element in the black lodge.  Remember when Hawk says, "ALL SOULS MUST PASS THROUGH ON THEIR WAY TO PERFECTION"

Now, when Leland dies, and he sees the light, he also sees Laura IN the light!  This hints that Laura is in a peaceful afterlife...and that Leland is there as well.

Some will say, "So how come AFTER her death, and AFTER LEland's death, we see them both int he black lodge"?....well, rememebr that time has no actual bearing there...so with Cooper seeing them both, that  doesn't mean that they are STILL there....but that they had entered at one time, so Cooper can see them at any time.  Now it is true that Laura says she will see Cooper again in 25 years....but remember when you DO see her in 25 years...she hasn't aged a day....but Cooper has!  ALso, when LEland's doppleganger is shown int he black lodge...his hair is brown...and just beginnning to gray.

I think these are signs that the only one TRAPPED in the lodge by the end of the show...is COOPER.

Opinions anyone?

Funny, Laura's the one person who doesn't feel trapped in the BL to me.

my user name is spelled incorrectly.

Hyde, that was my first reaction 14 years ago and I still think it's true.

Everyone has "several" souls, like Hawk said, including "a dream soul that wanders."  Part of you is always hanging out in the BL, probably from birth or even before.  Then I read about the Bardo/ liminal states of Buddhist thought, and that cinched it for me.

Yeah. I've always been of the opinion the whole show was eventually 'steered' in that direction...

i.e.

Episode where Trueman, Cooper, Hawk and Doc Hayward come across the Log Lady's house. She invites them in for tea, and says to Cooper 'Shut your eyes and you'll burst into flames.'

Another when Cooper, Rosenfield, Trueman and Lt. Briggs [I think] are discussing the events leading to the revelation of the killer Bob etc. etc. I recall someone asks 'Where is Bob now?' and the camera points to Cooper.

I'm sure there are a few more instances I'm not yet remembering. I hope this makes sense.

P.S. I also agree that everyone could be found in the Black Lodge at any time.

Maybe this is a bit off topic... but how old is Cooper supposed to be?  Because now it nearly is literally 25 years later and Kyle Machlachlan doesn't look anywhere near as old as Cooper is supposed to look in the dream sequence.  So what gives with the old man makeup?  Premature aging brought about by lodge contact?  Or is Cooper really supposed to be like 40 in the show?  If so...  hmmmm.....

I've always thought that he looks like he has that illness J.F. Sebastian suffers in BLADE RUNNER instead of being normally aged...

Mmm, by the way, I wonder if Emory Battis is a replicant... Roy's long lost cousin maybe, that's why he gives unicorns to the girls he chooses for One Eyed Jacks...

Ah, the plot thickens...

lol......I always thought that he looks sick in that sequence too.  I thought that maybe he had a stroke...or went through something horrible like Leland did when his hair turned white.  That way, it has nothing to do with him just being older....it also has to do with him being ill.

According to the trading cards (and they aren't necessarily right) Cooper is 35 years old.  However, since the show came out in 1990, it has only been 17 years.  It will be interesting to see how he looks in another 8 years.  I still think he looks ill in that sequence though.  (see above)......

Look in FWWM.....Phillup Jefferies points at Cooper and says, "WHO DO YOU THINK THIS IS THERE?" showing he KNOWS that cooper will end up where he is, and as a host for Bob.  (or his doppleganger if you prefer)

It seems most of us share the opinions about the BL.....

I was curious to ask this, because some people have alternate opinions.  For example, Chris (onesuavefolk) does plays at the fest every year, where he has people go into the black lodge, and they grow together.  On one of his plays, Laura in the BL and Donna had an affair, and Donna goes to visit Laura in the black lodge.  I personaly don't care for this sort of thing, because I find fan fiction should never continue an actual event which redefines characters differently than the original concept of the actual creators.....but being meant for TP fun....I know Chris looks forward to it.  I thought he might comment on this, because I thought he might have a different opinion than the rest of us, and Chris is an excellent conversationalist.  Oh well......

Hyde.

I am convinced you either did not understand what I wrote. Oh well.

Also, you had not indicated you were referring to Fire Walk With Me so my answer was based on Twin Peaks the series.

I'm sorry.

An Angel from the White Lodge takes Laura there at the end of FIRE WALK WITH ME - You actually see her in the White Lodge in the final scene (surrounded by white).

Cheap latex SFX. They should've superimposed Kyle's character on Sex & the City's head for the Gold Box pilot/dream

BTW, am I the only one that thought Kyle looked much younger in "Slices of Lynch" than in any other post-2000 documentary, film or whatever I've seen?

I think she isn't in lodge, and she escaped from the Bob.

Her daeth was her sacraface, but she didn't sell her soul,as her father.

I don't know what did happen with Agent Cooper soul and life. Was he killed in black lodge or not,and who was the person whose went from the lodge?

For laura,i'm sure her daeath saved her soul from the bob.

P.S. "I watchced tp first in my ten,and on wall in my child room i wrote "Bob can suck my d..."

The evil TWINS (twin speak!) are part of our timeless souls. Infinity demands all from us. Good and evil.

They are compartmentalised into lodges.

So that's why they exist in the red lodge black lodge white lodge thing. At the same time. Timeless.

"Oh! You ARE sick."
