I watched "fire walk with me" before 2 days first time

very good movie, but have more horor elements than "twin peaks"

first my thoughts were "bob doesn't excisy,it's liland bad and mad side".

In movie i saw Liland had a big physical problems, and Bob excist only in his mind.

Laura also saw that bad side.

I've always been a firm believer that BOB does exist in the world of Twin Peaks!Of course there are people who disagree...but this is just my point of view..The way I see it BOB is a supernatural force ,and I believe he truly exists, the evil in the woods.Cooper believes the same!quote: "Four of us have seen him,Albert!!" -
Sarah Palmer,Ronette,Maddy and Cooper. But only a few can see his true face -the gifted and the damned.Laura was gifted and damned,as well.I also remember what BOB told her in her diary :

Laura: "Are you real,BOB?"

BOB: "TO YOU I AM THE ONLY REALITY THERE IS"

Beware of BOB

BOBBOB

When I call out no one can hear me,when I whisper he thinks the message is for him only..my little voice inside my throat,I always think there must be something that I've done or something I can do...But no one no one comes to help,he says,a little girl like you...

Fire Walk With Me has a different tone than Twin Peaks because it's set in the dark final days of Laura.

Since it's her story, and it can function as a stand alone film, you could interpret it as her psychosis (not Leland's) because she does see both faces; once in the train car, and once in bed.  Interpreted that way, it can be seen as a metaphor for the mental damage that the fear, horror and confusion of sexual abuse can cause, like repression and displacement (of blame from the father to a monster/outsider.)

Cooper comforting her in the Red Room means that the murder will be solved, and her soul is okay.

The Red Room, the ring, BOB, Mike and the One Armed Man could be nightmares, but they are just too strange to not be supernatural. And intriguing.

Of course BOB exists - I see him every time I look in a mirror.

Bob being the evil that men do is so Scooby-Doo.
And Scooby-Doo f*cking sucks.

"Jinkies, Coop. It was old man Palmer all along!"

Might be a sound argument... if not for Laura and Cooper's shared dreams of BOB, the visions of him, and everything that happens involving BOB after episode 16... Taking these things into account it doesn't make much sense for him not to exist in the show; however I do believe that he's a symbol of the kind of evil that drives men to such extreme depths that they are capable of the most terrible things; there are a lot of characters that symbolize this kind of thing in Lynch (Frank Booth, The Mystery Man, the baby in Eraserhead, and the Phantom), just to name a few. So it kind of goes both ways... which is fine with me. I do greatly prefer the way he's handled in season 1 and FWWM to season 2 though...

That god damn trailer's more popular than Uncle's Day in a whorehouse!

And I would have gotten away with it too, if it hadn't been for you meddling lawmen. And a bunch of clue-laden symbolism. And my pointing-to-myself choice of recent victims. And the intervention of otherworldly entities. And going crazy in public all the time. And establishing myself in your minds as someone capable of murder. And the death or incapacitation of every other reasonable suspect except for the one who is my business associate and closest friend. And my eleventh-hour recognition of the sketch you had drawn up from the description given to you by my wife in our house a couple of weeks ago that led you to a real-world dead-end but resonated with the freaky-ass dream you had in which you were allegedly told the name of the killer.

I'd have to say no. Not really.

But then again maybe, yeah.

I think BOB exists as a common representation of evil--IMO what we see as the face of Bob is just a use of the medium of film to convey the capacity for evil that we all have.

*************************SPOILERS******************************

I always found Coop's explanation the most satisfying:

Albert: But people saw BOB, people saw him in visions, Laura, Maddy, Sarah Palmer. Harry: Well, I've lived in these old woods most of my life. I've seen some strange things, but this is way off the map. I'm having a hard time believing. Cooper: Is it easier to believe a man could rape and murder his own daughter any more comforting? Harry:...but if he was real and we had him trapped and he got away, where is BOB now?"

As far as existence goes though, what's the deal with the other BL inhabitants? So BOB can "jump" in to other people, Mike can just cruise around through both worlds looking like a OAM, the giant turns in to an old man waiter when he wants to get Coop's attention, and the LMFAP can only be in the lodge. What do folks on the board think about how Lynch/Frost's different use of movement and action for these characters relates to the story telling?

my user name is spelled incorrectly.
