Question - so once you get your hands on the DVD set, what are you going to watch first? An episode? Special features? What?

Tentative plan: Start at the European pilot, then straight on through to the other side.

More realistic plan: Watch some supplemental features here and there, bring the pilot to the weekly SciFi TV get-together.

Really, the plan depends on if I get it right when it comes out, or wait for Christmas.

I think I will go for the special features first--such a sucker for deleted scenes and extras. :) Then there will be a massive marathon from beginning to end.

yeah, it is all fine and good...LOTS of great bonuses and ones WITH Lynch involved is all very mouth watering and I can't wait to dive into them, but the first thing I am going to do is watch the Pilot in 5.1 and a clear, crisp picture while my import DVD of the pilot is burning and melting in effigy in the kitchen sink.

Special features first, then start in on the episodes in order, skipping the Euro pilot.  It will probably take months to get through everything.

This release really couldn't come at a worse time for me.  I'm going through a "lost my boner for TP" phase and don't even want to buy it.

I know exactly what you mean, Angel. I haven't watched the series in what feels like forever--not even listened to Peaks music.  Am hoping the release of the new stuff soon will fix that--rekindle the fire, so to speak. :)

Come to think of it, I already watched the series in its entirety when the S2 box set came out. Probably won't do it again, unless someone I know really really wants to. So my "realism plan" will most likely win out.

Same here. I'm hoping it's just post-fest burnout, considering Jared and I haven't stopped working on or thinking about the fest since the day after it ended this year. Usually we get a month or two break but this time it's full steam ahead, trying to get things ready for the potential influx of new TP fans with the release of both the box set and the CD. So no breather! And now I have no desire to watch the DVDs when they arrive.

However, I will definitely crack that puppy open just to watch the Fest documentary. After that, the set will probably sit around on my shelf for like four or five months before I even entertain the notion of watching the series again.

I know your pain 12rainbow. You can definately have too much of a good thing. I'm weaning myself off Ebay and DL messageboards and packing away the memorablia that's taken over the house, then I'm taking a long rest. I'm sick of thinking about crap packaging and DVD extras.

Special Features for me - the complete TP gets screened once-yearly in my house, and it's already been aired this year!

Has he taken his eyes off it yet?

It's all about the special features for me... then I get to introduce my boyfriend (who's only seen the first five episodes and the last one) to, well, the whole damn town!!!

I'll probably watch the special features in between the entire series. I believe I saw the pilot once or twice in the past few months, but that would only motivate me even more (I have a poor quality bootleg of the first season + pilot, and episode 4 does not work). It hasn't even been a year since I got into Twin Peaks and I think it's still fresh for me. I know what you mean about the desensitization; it's a shame that some things cannot have the same effect over time.
