Just got the word that the final cut of Flappy: Behind The Music in the air, the mockumentary that I wrote ,will be debuted at the NW Film Forum's Local Sightings shorts program on Sunday Oct. 7 at 9:15 p.m. I know that likely none of you will be able to attend, but it's great that it will be shown outside of a hardcore Lynch crowd. TP Fest 2008 for sure...

Chris, congrats! Though most of us have no idea what Flappy is or are sick of hearing about it, that's cool. Wish we could be there!!

Well I can't make it simply because I live in the NE rather than NW. Though my name is Chris.

| Thanks for your airtight geographical alibi, my fellow Chris. Your heart's in the right place, even if the rest of your body isn't...

All you need is a camper van, a cow and Chris Isaak and you can distribute Final Flappy yourself, taking it from city to city and sharing it with an adoring public! I learned that from David Lynch. But, in the words of Major Briggs "Achievement is its own reward" so well done you...
I ran from the noise and the silence, from the traffic on the streets

Sounds like a blast... but I do have a day job to uphold. Plus, it's only 12 minutes long & contains wayyy too much copyrighted material (it's a parody, so we're protected, right?). But it's my director Matt's ball right now. He's submitting it to fests, etc. His one time roommate is Robinson Devor (The Woman Chaser, Police Beat, Zoo), so I'm hoping he can help with distribution. But it's 12 minutes, so... Was hoping to get it on some sorta TP box. Maybe the Uber-ultra-maximum golden ABSOLUTELY final edition...

Why do I have a horrible feeling we're at least five more releases away from the Uber-ultra-maximum golden ABSOLUTELY final edition of Twin Peaks?

Flappy was the clear hit of the evening (longer & stronger than any cut previously screened), even if underattended (cold & wet Sunday later night slot). Very pleased with the result. One our our editors, Joe Shapiro is one of the busiest in the area now, while Ben Kersulke, cameraman in our early stages was the director of photography on Guy Maddin's latest Brand Upon The Brain, the major event at the Local Sightings Fest!!!

a friend of mine did the sound for that show in chicago, i got to see it with live narration by crispin glover, a male soprano singer, a large emsemble of musicians, and a smaller ensemble of sound effects, all done live. it was wonderful to see the film this way.

It was done that way here, as well. It was at the Cinerama (where I first saw IE), with Karen Black & Maddin himself doing the narrator on alternate nights. I had rehearsal both nights...
