Last thread, boys and girls!

-         The phone from Chet’s car is connected to the horn, which can be heard.
-         Two secretaries are seen in Gordon’s office in Portland, a blonde one and a brunette.
-         There are some letters and numbers in Sam’s machine: BLM 139709.
-         Deers everywhere in the Deer Meadow’s sheriff’s office (obviously). The logo of the local police is a deer too, as can be seen in Deputy Cliff’s shoulder.
-         Sheriff Truman had football trophies in his office and so does Sheriff Cable.
-         Teresa’s evidence box has written its contents in one of its sides. They are later mentioned by Chet.
-         Cable says it’s 4:30 and that’s the time a clock in the background indicates.
-         The “Cable bends steel” photo is actually a newspaper clipping though in the closeup we can’t read what it says.
-         Look at Teresa’s corpse closely and you’ll see that the actress moves. Barely but she does.
-         The skin from Teresa’s hand is blueish, probably from being in the water like Laura, but where the ring should be shows normal color skin. Does this mean the ring was removed *after* she was in the water?
-         The sign with a crying clown outside Hap’s.
-         Jack from Hap’s wears a little batch with the words “Say hello to Jack” on it, only that the “hello” has been replaced by “goodbye”.
-         The guy fixing the lamp has an ashtray filled with cigarette butts next to him. He’s not in a rush.
-         Chainsaws stuck in a log behind Irene.
-         The lamp guy and the bearded guy with Jack are seen entering the diner in the background.
-         Sam checks his empty coffee cup after Chet’s joke as if he didn’t know.
-         The notes in Carl’s door: “My cat is gone”, “I’m moving out”, “My fridge doesn’t stay cold”, “My trailer has a leak, fix it by tomorrow”.
-         Teresa’s trailer: a bra next to a plug, Sam checking how much what is in Teresa’s trailer may cost like he did in the sheriff’s office, a fly going through the ceiling, Sam being the first to notice something strange in Carl, a burn in the curious woman’s shirt.
-         Carl shows Chet Deputy Cliff’s truck, a red one. We can see the truck reflected in the FBI van outside the sheriff’s station.
-         Well known fact, but I must mention it: Teresa’s ring has the Owl symbol on it and it’s in a mount of dirt, like Laura’s necklace.
-         An old photo of the Liberty Bell in the FBI offices.
-         Coop looks at his left before speaking with Gordon. That’s where Albert is sitting.
-         Gordon has a calendar on his desk with the date february 16th, the same one Coop mentions.
-         We can hear a sound that indicates that Jeffries appears in the elevator AFTER the doors open and wasn’t there before. Just as the script suggests…
-         It looks that Jeffries has a wound in his lips.
-         When Gordon says “And where is Chester Desmond?” an FBI agent that looks like Chet can be seen in a monitor. Some people believe that’s Chet.
-         We can see that Donna is saying something before she says the “Mike is the man” line.
-         Also when Laura finds James in the stairs she begins to say something before the scene changes.
-         The sound of the wind and some notes of “The Voice of Love” when Donna and Laura are talking about angels and falling in space.
-         The ominous sound similar to pages being torn when Laura sees that, indeed some pages of her diary have been torn.
-         A lamp with a little owl on it in the Palmer’s bedroom.
-         The offscreen sound of the door of Laura’s car is synchronized with the “Bang Bang Bar” sign, when the “bang bang” part appears.
-         The wind like sound is heard again when the Log Lady appears.
-         A picture of an angel briefly seen inside the Roadhouse.
-         Donna carries a beer when they enter the Pink Room, that makes clear that place is part of a bigger local.
-         After Jacques says his “fart” line we can see Laura winking her eye to someone, Jacques or Buck…
-         Laura drags Donna to dance with her, but we don’t see them doing it later. Part of a deleted scene…
-         The musician next to the naked girl dancing has a bra in his shoulder. Probably hers… BTW, that girl is not totally naked when Laura and co. arrives, she gets undress later.
-         The flashes of electricity when Laura sees Donna naked.
-         The painting seen when Laura and Jacques ‘rescue’ Donna.
-         The LMFAP’s indian whooping sound is heard when Gerard is first seen in his trailer.
-         You can hear a dog barking during all the traffic jam scene, not just when it appears onscreen.
-         Signs in Mo’s Motor: “Mo says no”, “Treat him right”, “Cash only, no credit”.
-         The Blue Diamond’s motel diamond in the sign is not blue…it’s red.
-         We can see that Teresa went for ice when Leland arrives to the motel and sees Laura, that’s why she wasn’t in the room.
-         The whooping sound is heard again briefly in the flashback Leland has of him killing Teresa.
-         Bobby sneezes the cocaine he just takes.
-         In the shot of Sarah in bed before she sees the horse we can hear “Laura” very low, the same she said in the Pilot. Also, she has a book about how to learn german.
-         Like in the series Sarah notices the horse is going to appear before it does.
-         The little bottle of Jack Daniels that Laura drinks after taking the cocaine in her bed.
-         When Leland/BOB shows Laura the diary pages a sound like pages being torn can be heard, the same one that is heard when Laura finds her diary with pages missing.
-         The angels look like the person they are protecting/comforting. Check Ronette’s and Laura’s.
-         How could Laura put the ring if she was tied? Someone or something untied her, you can see the marks in her wrists. BTW, she puts the ring in the same finger where BOB will later put the letter.
-         A clear image of Leland holding the knife he uses to kill Laura can be seen for a second.

-         When Leland proceeds to wrap Laura in plastic you can already see the wound in his abdomen that is seen later... He probably wounded himself to write the FWWM note, which was written with his blood.

1. You can see more of the article in the VHS version, for whatever reason.  I read the prop once, it's hilarious philosophical musings and non sequiturs.  Someone in the art department had a little fun with that.

2. I never noticed those things from the Pink Room scene. I"ll have to go back and check that out.  Where's the picture?  By the door?

3. The owner of the Mt. Si motel insists that it was called the Red Diamond.

The somber opening credits of FWWM are effective in an inverse manner to the lush opening
credits of the TV show at lulling the viewer into this dreamlike world.

Why are the school kids screaming at the prostitution and bus driver arrests outside the
bus in this totally Lynchian scene?

Sam cracked the Whitman case - could be a good fanfic for this someday

I was disappointed when I found out FWWM was a prequel because we already knew the LP story,
but wasn't initially concerned because I thought they were planning on making TP into a
series of feature films like Star Trek and the next two would be about Windom Earle and
Phillip Jeffries respectively.  How were these films going to work taking place outside of
Twin Peaks?

It's hilarious Cole has Lil show Desmond the code because it's not like anyone was spying
on them - why the secrecy?

Cable-Desmond fight would have been awesome - two badasses one who can bend steel and the
other who can break noses

Sam Stanley gets the credit for discovering the first letter in BOB's demon signature.

The woman with the Shinola man in Hap's diner always reminds me of Jones for some reason.

Is the Ronette bridge in the background of Fat Trout Trailer Park?

Never noticed when Carl Rodd reaches for his keys, Desmond and Stanley reach for their guns

Why does the Curious Woman slink away in fear when Desmond asks her if she knew Teresa?
What's there to be afraid of?

Unfortunately, now the 6 on the telephone pole has a dark secret.

When Carl Rodd says he has gone places, does he mean prison or the Lodges?

Desmond must know something about the Lodges if he is so interested in the telephone lines.

Established actor Jurgen Prochnow is in FWWM for like 2 seconds.

Looks like Phillip Jeffries entered FBI building through a portal in the elevator and exited
through electrical power lines.

Let's Rock on Desmond's car- written in paint, lipstick, blood?

Freakin' hilarious the students behind Bobby also dancing to A Real Indication.

How did Heidi get a bloody nose?  I like Norma's shorter more modern looking hair in this
scene too.

BOB's search behind the dresser for the diary followed by the closeup shot of inside of
his mouth may be the scariest jolt of a BOB appearance in the TP series or film.

What Leland is doing to Laura can't be put into words how repulsive it is.

"Night time is my time." - Laura. Always like this dark, dark quote about a secret life.

Julee Cruise has the same HUGE helmet hair as Laura.

Is the Pink Room some kind of "hidden" bar or club?  There is no way the law would allow
what goes on there to happen.

Love the camera shot of a 1000 cigarette butts and empty beer bottles followed by the shots
of the beautiful scenery surrounding Twin Peaks.

Is the attendant at Mo's Motor a stutterer?

I really don't think Leland knows BOB is possessing him, but he is responsible because he
was weak enough to let him in.  Kinda sad really.

What was Deputy Cliff Howard planning on doing once he shot Bobby at the drug deal?

The death of Deputy Howard investigation must have gone unsolved.

I doubt Leland would hear James revving his motorcycle late at night coming to pick up Laura.

Shot of Leland watching James pick up Laura is similar to the scene in the series when
Maddy sneaks out at night.

The wind blowing sound effect is used constantly in FWWM.

Keeping with the TP duality theme, Twin Peaks is perfect as it is.  However, I don't care
what anyone else says or thinks, there are more stories to be told in the rich TP world.
I don't know what form or fashion, but there are more stories yet to be told in the rich
TP world.

What causes Laura to scream near Sparkwood and 21? BOB?

In a way, the James/Laura scene near Sparkwood and 21 is similar to the James/Donna scene
in the woods of the Pilot with just the closeup face shots in the dark.

Waldo goes nuts at the cabin when Leland looks in the window and his animal instincts take
over as he senses BOB's presence.

Do you think the song played during Laura's death (Requiem in C Minor?) should be on a
soundtrack?  Powerful, powerful stuff.

Still confused about the ring.  If it's so bad, why does it appear when the OAM shows up?

OAM doesn't even help Ronette get up.

Thank goodness Laura's body stayed afloat against the HUGE log because otherwise this story would
have never existed.

When the monkey says Judy, I want to know Phillip Jeffries entire story.

What's funny is my favorite part of the TP world is the Red Room scenes, yet there aren't
many in the overall story.

For the first time, I felt a haunting closure during the final scene in FWWM.

"Harry, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it, don't wait for it, just let it happen. Could be a new shirt at the men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot, black coffee. Like this."  -Dale Cooper

Here's one that I'm surprised wasn't mentioned...

There are multiple versions of the Angel picture that Laura has on her wall. Not just one with the Angel and one without the angel. There is a third one, where the background and wall behind the angel are totally different.

In the scene where Agents Desmond and Stanley are speaking with Jack at Hap's, the bearded man is watching them.  There are two light bulbs, one dark one in the lamp and the flashing one on the table.  It was mentioned that the bearded man and the guy "fixing" the light got up and entered the diner, but did anyone notice that the bearded man unscrewed the dead light nad brought it with him.  He sits down just inside the diner, and occasionally looks over at the agents.

The guy fixing the light definitely isn't the Electrician, but the bearded man is dressed the same as the Woodsmen in room above the convenience store.  Is he one of them?

No, that's not Ronette's bridge in the background at the Fat Trout, that's Meadowbrook St. about a block from Mo's Motor.  Ronette's bridge is about a quarter mile or so up the Snoqualmie from there.

Those same telephone lines from the Fat Trout were seen in the series a couple times, flashing staticky.  I can't tell you where, but always in conjunction with Agent Cooper.

It was the electric pole with the 6 that directed both Agent Desmond and Cooper to the space where the Chalfonts lived.

As for the ring and the OAM, Mike wasn't there to stop the murder, BOB had "stolen the corn", Mike was there to confront him.  In the script, while Mike was pounding on the door, he was laughing, saying "you're killing his daughter."  In the movie edit he does appear to be smiling as he stumbles away.  It doesn't seem that BOB intended to kill Laura, as he didn't start to until she put on the ring.  That's when Leland/BOB screamed, "Don't make me do this!"  (Was that BOB's request or Leland's?).  Notice Mike then went to the Lodge and it is the union of MFAP/Mike who demands the corn (pain and sorrow) that is owed them ("Give me all my Garmonbozia") from the murder of Laura.

Yes, he was the Black Lodge's Deer Meadow sales representative.

falling's claim above about electrical wires in the Fat Trout in FWWM appearing also in the series is wrong - what's that all about? The electrical wires imagery only featured in FWWM.

- I always thought the actress who plays Teresa's corpse, particularly in the face, looks very different from Pamela Gidley, the actress who plays alive Teresa. I checked the ending credits though and there are no credits for Teresa's corpse. Is it pretty much possible that Lynch could have used a different actress, like he did also for Diane's corpse in Mulholland Dr?

- When Chet and Sam go to Irene's, behind her, in the background, at the right,  there are two chainsaws stuck into a big log (someone already mentioned this I know). But look closer... One jigsaw is red and the other one is yellow.. Matching color pattern with Lyl's scene - she has a red dress, behind her is a yellow plane.

- Curious woman appearing on Teresa's doorway as Chet, Sam and Carl Rod talk looks like a female sosia of David Lynch.... I bumped into some websites around the net where there were theories that this interpreter (Ingrid Brucato) is just an invented pseudonym for Lynch, who could have made this appearance with a very well-made and heavy makeup. Ingrid Brucato doesn't seem to be an existing interpreter on IMDB, which has birth dates even for the most unknown people. What i think is it's highly likely that that one is mr. David Lynch because the features on that face really remind me of him, plus a woman can be really ugly and big, but that was a really big male head... and did you look at the big hands also? Definitely mysterious appearance.

- When Chet returns at Fat Trout trailer park in the evening after they send Teresa's body to Portland, the trailer he checks is not neither Teresa's or Deputy Cliff's. It's important to know this, because, as Carl Rod would say about cops, this trailer park itself seems a little confusing. There are doubles even there: we have Carl Rod's trailer or apt (didn't check on that), then there is Teresa's... Then Deputy Cliff's and finally the  new one Chester Desmond finds at night and someone seems to be there since the lights inside are on. Then he gets on his knees and sees the ring and when he touches it he disappears. Then, when Cooper asks Carl Rod who was there, we know that the Chalfonts were there.

- During Cooper's (dream) sequence in Philadelphia where Jeffries appears, the way Cooper starts running in the corridor reminds me the way he moved in the series finale scenes in the Black Lodge/Waiting Room.

- I always wondered why Laura was meeting with James, only with a towel on, in that sort of storage room which we don't know where it is located (at school or someplace else?).

- I always thought the scene where Laura tries to hide in the bushes is similar to the one in Mulholland Dr. where Betty and Rita try to hide from the guys in suits.

- In the Pink Room scene, Laura drops her jacket on a cigarette butt that is still lit up - you can see smoke rising.

- In the scene where the One armed man chases Leland's car, he passes under a bridge that reads 12, 6 .

- The truck with the logs that stops to let the old man cross the street is red. Right there, on the right corner of the street, there is a yellow hydrant.

- In Leland's flashback, when he comes in the trailer park and looks into Teresa's trailer to find out Laura and Ronette are there, in the background there is a yellow trailer and beside him there is a Coca Cola distributor with the red logo on it.

- When Leland goes away, Miss Chalfont'ss grandson pops out and there is a male voice over speaking in a low timbre in the background that says  "The black dog runs at night"

- I always wondered why Laura thinks Bobby killed Mike. That man he killed is Cliff Howard. Is it maybe a reference to the BOB and MIKE from the Lodge?

- During the Bob rape scene you can clearly see they put a pillow between them. That is quite inexplicable, since Frank Silva is completely dressed and there is absolutely no nudity. He could have mimed the intercourse, without having to put a stupid pillow between them ruining the realism of the scene.

The many scenes in FWWM with red and yellow objects referenced by Mr. Silencio could refer to the traffic lights in town.

Yes, it could be. But it also could be another way of saying "double". I mean, add another color to yellow and you have RED!

Correct, but have you noticed that this bridge (not Ronette's) is actually in the Pilot!?

In the scene where Cooper and Harry are in their car at night chasing after Joey Paulson (or maybe it's James at that point), the sheriff's car speeding out from Camera left and crosses a bridge. That's the same bridge, so in effect, in the real world, they are coming out of the filming location that is later the Fat Trout. :)

Whatever that bridge is, it's certainly a very similar one and I doubt it was just a coincidence.

Nope. It is definitely Pamela Gidley. Lynch himself helped do her makeup for the scene in the morgue. And an absolutely amazing makeup job it was.

I've always thought it's because both Mike and Cliff have reddish hair (like a mixture of blonde and red). Cliff might look a bit like an older version of Mike especially when the one who looks at him is drunk and high on drugs. I think she might have this thought at first but she soon understands that it's not Mike and starts to tease Bobby.

I've always thought that people read too much into this scene. In my opinion, it's just emphasising how much she is smashed off her face.

In Laura's bedroom scene (with the picture on the wall), there appears to be a blue rose mounted on her door. I'm colorblind, so I may be wrong about the color.

Three points;

1. My Nana used to have one of those porcelain roses mounted on a velvet oval.

2. I agree with Gordon about the angels looking like the person they're protecting. The first time I saw Fire Walk With Me in a cinema I thought the angel in the Red Room was played by Sheryl Lee, until I checked the end credits.

3. You probably do see more of the 'Cable bends steel' article on the VHS edition because the theatrical and widescreen DVD versions of the film were matted and the video wasn't so you actually see more in the full screen version of the film.

I ran from the noise and the silence, from the traffic on the streets
