Has anyone seen Johnny Caouette's "Tarnation"? It's a fascinating film. Anyway, in that he mentions that as a school production he did a version of BV with actors lipsynching to Marian Faithfull songs. BV was reimagined as about the Mick Jagger/Marian Faithfull relationship. It seems wonderfully unhinged and so entirely in keeping with DL's bizarre slant on things. There is clip of the rehearsals in Tarnation. Anyway, the film is worth seeing anyway. That's just an excuse to get you to watch th efilm. What next? "Elephant Man" to the songs of Gary Glitter? "Dune" set to a Nick Drake song cycle? Any suggestions?

Sounds fascinating. Can't really say I see any parallels between Mick & Marianne that would apply to B.V., but... does it say which of her songs are used? Early M.F., or Broken English & beyond? You do realize that she did an album with Angelo B., right? As for Elephant Man: The Musical, it's been done. See the hilarious The Tall Guy, whose centerpiece is Elephant!, with Jeff Goldblum as John Merrick (also stars Emma Thompson & Rowan Atkinson)...

"It's a real pea-souper!!"
My theory by A. Elk, brackets, Miss, brackets. This theory goes as follows and begins now. All brontosauruses are thin at one end, much much thicker in the middle, and then thin again at the far end. That is my theory, it is mine, and it belongs to me, and I own it, and what it is, too. Ange's Odyssey

As for ACTUAL musicals, just got the soundtrack for Evil Dead: The Musical. Like what I've heard so far. It began, like the film, as an ultra-low budget affair. Bruce Campbell gave it a hearty 2 disembodied hands up!!
